Scientists measure a second as the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods
of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine
levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom.
Or the duration of 9,192,631,770 matches where David Kim crushes you head to head in StarCraft 2

If you look at the black & white 'instruction manual' version of the Zergling, you'll notice the head is actually different from the Hydralisk, but its all just a matter of proportions. They kind of squished and altered the Hydralisk's head to make the Zergling's.
It is updated, and finally bi-pedal again, but from what I've been able to see the body is still kind of a mash-up between the WarCraft III Felhound's and the Zz'Gashi strain of Zergaling.
One thing that will likely be staying in SC2 is the long "cricket" tail. It allows your eye to easily see the "flow" of the Zerglings.
I love Mr. Jack's art. He nails Zerg to a T, and frankly I wish Blizzard could base their Zerg a little more off of his work. His Zerg are evil, but in a hidden, deeper way. Blizzard (until recently, I must say) stops at just throwing big red glowy eyes on'em.Originally Posted by RamiZ
Do you suppose though, that he might consider drawing up another rendition of the Zergling? A mix between the instruction manual's Blizzard North render, the in-game wire frame, and the in-game model? 'Twould make my day!

1. I don't get the cricket tail reference...I get the wing reference to the cricket, but crickets don't have tails?
2. Some of Mr. Jack's art is fantastic, in fact all of it is. It's too over the top though, and I think if Blizzard met somewhere between their rendition and his that the Zerg would look plausible and amazing.

I was referring to the enlarged, overly "lengthwise" abdomen. Sorry about the confusion.Originally Posted by Rezildur

While Mr. Jack's works are amazing, all he did is add a lot more detail to the units Blizzard conceptualized. The reason why concept artist don't go overboard with details is that the game 3D artists and modelers are able to pick out the most distinguishing features of the creature and translate it as a 3d model. If concept art was like Mr. Jack's works are given to the 3D artists they won't be able to figure out which part of the creature is supposed to stand out. Mr. Jack just puts the proverbial/artistic icing on the cake to already conceptualized units. I bet he would have never of thought of the new Infestor design.

We already know that, but his art is much better looking, ofc Blizzard got their art for the game, but did you see Alternative Infestor? It is great, the Infestor he thought of, and i like it very much.
I could ask him, i talk with him a lot over deviantart acc.I love Mr. Jack's art. He nails Zerg to a T, and frankly I wish Blizzard could base their Zerg a little more off of his work. Yes, just because it's not concept art doesn't mean it isn't incredible.
If I could have things my way, I would have Mr. Jack hired to do the finalized art on the units.
