If it's a crystal globe like at the Fleet Beacon, I think it should look more... crystalline. As it stands, both globes (hehe, big blue balls) look like something culled from a Tron movie. I don't like that.

Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

The Fleet Beacon's globe and the Sentry's globe do not need to match in my opinion. Thought the Fleet Beacon could use a touch-up, I'm perfectly fine with the Sentry's globe.Originally Posted by Visions of Khas

The Fleet Beacon's sphere is supposed to be a crystal of some form; a physical object. It seems to me that the Sentry's sphere is energy more than matter. The Fleet Beacon's globe and the Sentry's globe do not need to match in my opinion. Thought the Fleet Beacon could use a touch-up, I'm perfectly fine with the Sentry's globe.

Your statement doesn't make sense. What about the blue orb doesn't make sense to you? It's a blue orb, on some fictional unit in a science fiction universe as part of a species that uses magic and has magic technology. Now how on Earth did you come to the conclusion that a blue orb doesn't make sense? Just curious of course.I actually preferred the older model. The blue sphere is clunky and makes no sense. What is it? A power core? Hologram? Shielded device? Until I see it in action or different perspectives, I'm not sold on it.

To those currently disliking the the new Sentry model, here's something that might help you reconsider:
It's almost a certainty that the new energy sphere will likely be animated rather than a stationary globe. Possibly, it might continuously rotate on its axis or the smaller sphere might expand to merge into the larger sphere at which point a new smaller sphere develops and grows. These are just some of the more obvious possibilities. Moreover, the sphere opens up lots of potential for some fun/cool idle animations as easter eggs.

Off topic:
Imagine how cool will Kerrigan look in-game!
Tremendous and fearsome and beautiful at the same time.
She kill pack of marines with her back spikes in a blink of an eye while not moving other body parts!
Dead marines impaled hard and immediately tossed in the air in most awesome way possible.
Then zealots come, she ensnare them and blast them with lightning storm while her eyes glow with vicious silver...
Then take down disobedient ultralisk from sneak attack while invisible and feast on his flesh like Bheur from Rashemen
thus making her even more stronger....
Anyway, I hope her model will be a shiniest diamond in SC2. Hope we'll see her in Wings of Liberty!
If not, then i will be most depressed.

The newer model looks great.
Either model, it reminds me of the arbiter.
