When I upgraded from XP to 7, I wondered where the hell all my hard drive space went and I finally realized that it saved *everything* in a windows.old folder. I thought I was doing a full wipe, but everything was still there.

Yeah you have to choose custom install and format from there if you want to do a wipe.

I did a fresh start from XP to Win 7 but I saved all my old stuff on an external drive. Was sorta nervous of all my save files and the such but everything went off without a hitch. I got the 32 bit Win 7 professional and I got it via student deal like milo. Woot! It was at $30 at one point....but I didnt seize the moment. Got it for $65.
