Thread: How Will the Beta Invitation Process Progress?

Default How Will the Beta Invitation Process Progress?

Will it first begin with pro-gamers from Korea and then expand to those who had BlizzCon keys and contest winners, and then lastly to those who opted in via their battle.net profile? I'm just trying to get an idea how the whole thing will unwind when the time comes.

Well, last we were told there would be separate region phases and North America/New Zealand/Australia were in the first phase. Maybe they made a special exception, but otherwise the Korean progamers are probably going to be testing at the start of the Korean phase?

The first phase will probably be special invites (Press and notable players in the region), and hopefully at least some Blizzcon cards.

Why not all Blizzcon and contest winners? Its not like there are that many. I really can't speculate on the actual number of people who redeemed their blizzcon codes, but I honesty dont see it over 3,000 people at most. And if that is the case, how large is the beta actually going to become in its full force. (Ie. Beta has been up and running for a month or so..)

Well, Blizzcon 08 was what? 12,000 people? Did 07 people get sc2 codes too? How many people were there in 07? Also WWI codes can be used.

You really think that's only going to end up 3,000 people? :P It would be pretty silly for people to not use their card or not sell it on ebay, considering they go for over $100

An old random estimate I think I heard last year was 40,000 for North America, but that could easily be wrong. I also don't think it will be "full force" after a month. They tend to do a lot of phases and send out invites whenever they want more people.

We're not the people to ask, nobody knows but Blizzard and they're not talking yet.
We'll just have to wait and see.

They go by alphabetical order starting from H to J, then M to Z, then back to L. All other letters are excluded.

Nobody knows, I think it's a big deal and they'll put it on the splash of their cover...

    Then they'll probably say

    "Hell, it's about time.

StarCraft 2 Beta has begun! Check your email boxes for the formal invitation letter! You can also log into your Battle.Net accounts to check if you have been invited as well! There will be a SC2 Beta icon added to those who have been invited, you can then download the client by managing the game. For more help on downloading the client, please go to http://www.you're-probably-crying-because-you-didnt-get-in-HAHA.com"

Unfortunately, I think that last URL is where 3/4ths of us are going to go to.
