This is a great example of probably the worst management possible.

What if you went to a restaurant and ordered your food and 3 hours later the food arrived, and they said well sorry, we can't help it, we wanted to make sure everything was perfect, even though we know our customer satisfaction is dropping.

What happens? You say fuck you and explain to them you've lost your appetite and they won't get your money.

Granted, slightly different situation, but yes, this will pass the first couple times, but after so many years people will just stop coming back to Blizzard and they'll lost completely loyal fans.

Slightly different? Food is necessary for survival and video games are video games. If the chef makes you the best pasta ever, you're still going to be hungry in the morning. If Blizzard makes the best game ever, you're going to be entertained for years. Obviously running a restaurant and running a game development company are nothing alike :P

This huge dev cycle is nothing new, and obviously everyone keeps coming back. People are going to keep coming back after SC2 as well.

I would agree 100% with you, but you missed one key word that I was talking about, management. To be honest, I could have made the analogy with any type of management or service, but I chose restaurant and the concept still holds, if you wanna nitpick at every little detail, and prove through obscure means that Blizzard is the best gaming company in the world, be my guest, but I find it to be a good comparison.

I could keep going on with what's wrong with your sentences, but I'll stop after a few.

1)If Blizzard makes the best game ever. That's silly, because this game will not be the best game ever, as far as our standards go, in korea, possibly.

    2) This huge dev cycle is nothing new, and obviously everyone keeps coming back This comes sooo close to summing up America in 1 sentence, so close. If aint broke, don't fix it. This is broken good sir. Just because something bad has happened before and we've gotten used to it doesn't mean it should still go on.. lol

2)Obviously running a restaurant and running a game development company are nothing alike Have you run either? Because part of my family, and where I worked for many years, owned restaurants and even little deli shops. And while I have never had experience with game development, I would probably say management of all types are closer than you think.

I thought this tidbit was interesting from the recent Legacy Weekly. Id welcome SaharaDrac to come explain his thoughts.

Most pertinent for us here is the picture leaked from the teaser, which clearly depicts the staff celebrating with a screen behind them that says "Welcome to StarCraft II Beta" on the Bnet 2.0 login screen. Trust me, if Blizzard didn't want us to see that, we wouldn't have seen it.

Do people think Jace was allowed to put whatever he liked in his teaser without asking Blizzard? Really?
    Always play with fire.

Personally, I dont. And if he did I doubt Bashiok would have invited him back. So what does that mean?
