Hah! I tried that for about a year. Eventually I got fed up with my Internet randomly cutting out during competitive games of Star Wars Battlefront II and drilled a hole through my floor to run a wire to our wireless modem.

if you run on Vista theres a real simple selution.

I've never had issues with my net cutting out, in fact the only thing in my network that is wired is my media center cause transcoding video wirelessly is patchy at best

Another confirmation of no MAC Support for beta is found.

To download the Beta software, please log into your Battle.net account and select manage game for StarCraft II Beta (at this time, the Beta is only available for Windows). Once the file has been downloaded, double click on the file to begin the download and installation

I haven't seen this anywhere on my Battle Net manage account. And that Sc2 Beta Icon is for opt-in.
