I can understand that My source is a friend who I've known for years and years. We worked on a 2 projects in the past together, one where I was a producer of sorts and he was a designer. It was a video game company as well. We split ways but kept in touch, further getting in touch by AIM as he started to work for Blizzard.

My code name (and coincedentally now, my visual name on aim for him) is "Jack Doe" or "JD". He says Hi to everyone btw.

I don't expect leaks of information. I do believe everything you say. I've also been in your business and know important credibility and leaks can be and how they can damper ones rep and community standing.

I've worked on Day of Defeat, various other mods for Half-Life. Also ran www.counterstrikecenter.com which was basically a SC:L of CS at the time. So being part of a community like this is very important to myself although my frustration showed otherwise.

But... none the less.. wether I ever get to be part of another community or not is yet to be seen.

The only thing I want to know is if the "sources" actually are aware of an internal beta launch date. I don't want to know what it is, but just more so if infact there is one in the next few days.

Also, I am sorry but add an hour to the time I mentioned, my friend doesn't live on the east coast so it will be an extra hour before I hear the news.

odd.. You'd think they'd say like.. a time, then they would get everyone logging in at that time..

Altho I guess if they have ads that are paying for repeat visits, if they hold off to the last possible minute of friday, they will be getting hits all day from crazed blizzard fans.

It almost makes me want to make a blog with adsense, saying "BETA INFO HERE TOMORROW!" and watch the millions of hits wrack up (therefor, making me rich) before saying "Sorry, this was a hoax"...

So what is more likely?

1. Blizzard does not have a specific date the beta will start. It is a day to day decision and one day they will say "OK, we are ready now".

or

2. They have a specific day circled on the calendar and know exactly when they expect to start the beta, but will not tell us in case there are unexpected delays.

Blazur, you speak solid words man. I'm quoting this in case people missed it the first time.

I told you not to play this game dude. All due respect, but despite your connections you're still unable to inform this community of the beta date. You know it, JD knows it, and I hope SCL knows it. That is a right held only by Blizzard. All you're doing is toying with people's minds and emotions.

Unless you're prepared to give facts...I suggest this charade gets halted and only actual news get reported. Because if another month passes without anything official there's gonna be a lot of pissed off fans and it might tarnish reputations.

Facts:
- Blizzard is making progress towards the beta as they do every day.
- There will be an online airing of the Jace Hall show tomorrow and 1 week following. The showtimes are uncertain, but both are rumored to mention Blizzard to some degree.
- Blizzard is holding a conference call with its investors on Feb. 10th where they may or may not discuss the future of SC2.
- Blizzard has begun sending emails to fansite owners, allowing limited submissions into the eventual beta (thanks rcp181)

Let's leave it at that until something else surfaces. Not trying to hurt anybody's feelings, Just trying to be practical here...

If I get a solid time I'll definitely make an OT thread about it or something. If it appears to be about SC2 I'll probably hop on IRC as well to express my excitement or disappointment in real time.
