Regarding that Friends and Families are "always" Alphas...

I don't want to lead people astray that information that I have is false... to every ounce of my knowledge there is no Friends and Family active right now... proof... um.. I'm here and not playing! *chuckles*

But besides the point, for the sake of better conversation, I don't think we should care about the stipulation of F&F alpha versus beta by means of the process that SC2 has gone through. Typically their products are considered "alpha" before it's officially beta... In this case, if they did happen to consider a F&F opportunity, I would suspect they WOULD call it a Friends and Family Beta due to the nature of the SC2 project in particular.

I will admit I find it interesting how many times people try to find a standard for Blizzard's future from their past, it's typically not the case. Just because the company is the same as it was 10 years ago does not mean that the products, industry and internal company processes are the same over time as well.

Just a few pennies worth of thought that might enlighten you guys on my personal opinions regarding the subject.

My point is that, they can't really reveal ANY credible information regarding beta and when it's going to start.
