Every WoW product springs to mind.

Starting with BC, a lot of info would be released by F&F testers anonymously. I remember one website I used to check, wowexposed, or something like that. Had all the models and zone previews before beta even came to light. WotLK had a few leaks I remember reading about, and while I honestly can't remember if this was the F&F alpha or closed beta, but the death knight mount was dubbed the "Seizure Pony" for a while as it would fall on its side and spaz on the ground. All info about it has been removed from the WoW source sites, so I assume it was alpha...was an entertaining video tho!

All in all, leaks happen.

So, I think that there's a very good chance of one of the most anticipated games of 2010 (and 2009 and 2008 and even 2007) to have a few leaks from the friends and family beta fans. Or at least I hope there'll be!

The purpose of this thread is that I have an opportunity to share what information I have in the ways that I'm restricted to do so. Please also understand that there will be a time when I can go back and reveal all the information I have regarding the nature. I've had other threads directly related to my source where he gave a personal QA session with these forums. It was quite a while ago though.

This could either be a misunderstanding on your end... but when you reached the third quote about not knowing if there's an NDA or not... that's when I realized you were lying.

Between your constant wanting for information in this thread (which repeatedly implies that you are able to hype yourself up and have at times rather thirsted for info) and the fact that you "don't know if there's an NDA" shows that if your source actually existed, either they provided you false information which you aren't willing to risk your neck regarding... or the source doesn't exist. NDAs usually involve written concent regarding the matter, the last one I had to provide for Blizzard from an external source required a handwritten signature (complete with notary) and faxing it in. This is not something a person simply "does not know".

Oh, by the way, I do know that F&F is not active at this time... otherwise I would be in it right now. I can guarantee that if I was, I wouldn't be on these forums as much as I am right now ^_^ I also wouldn't have cared to clean the kitchen and would have ate dinner at the computer. *chuckles* Trust me, it's not out, therefore further confirming to me that your source is falsifying information or does not exist.

To be honest, I've been given the impression that there will be no F&F due to the new process where it's open testing in the building. Friends and family members can come to the office and play there, where leaks can be contained/controlled. This is something they've brought forward to alleviate a specific leak in recent history named www.wotlkwiki.info, which is the largest blemish in Blizzard's history related to leaks.

(My guesstimate though, is that F&F started last saturday. Progamers joining in yesterday. So we could see at least an announcement tomorrow maybe.)

If you read further still, you'll find me giving an explanation where it was an assumption/misunderstanding and I fully spell out the entire circumstances that lead up to that misunderstanding. This was before I was a staff member of the forums as well (to clarify) and was after the QA he was able to provide to the forums.

In short, I heard on the IM his wife was playing, it just so happened to be the first thing I saw after the F&F rumors came out earlier that day. I jumped the gun and later found out that she was merely helping him with work which he had to take home. It was a potential crunch time to assist in fixing bugs regarding their internal deadline at the time. If you look further in the thread, you'll see the apology and explanation.

Gifted is correct. There will be no official "FnF" beta or alpha. The game is already playable on an internal battle.net and doesn't need more testing internally. It's been ready for about 3 months to appeal to the masses.

Also, don't expect OMG BETA IS LAUNCHING THIS DAY, in history of blizzard betas, they just say "oh heres beta today by the way"

I'm not lying, and if you read what I wrote in the context I wrote, you'll see they don't contradict each other (as long as you don't take them out of context. out of context I supposed I can see why you'd think I was lying). I'm not saying my source doesn't know if there is an NDA, just saying I'm not sure.

edit: After reading the rest of your post, I'd have to say that either your source is lying or mine is lying.

I've known my source about a year and I'm pretty good friends with them, but I wouldn't say it was IMPOSSIBLE that they were lying.

It's been testable internally for a long time, but I don't think people have been able to download and play it at home (which is what a f&f beta is, as far as I know)
