If you consider rumor mongering information, then yes. The fact that Gifted is honest and reputable makes it tolerable, but SCL and so many other fansites have already teased the beta to death. Hell, Blizzard themselves have done so on countless occasions. Need I remind you of both the "Soon" and "Final Stretch" memes?

And what has that left us with? The next outlet of teasing.

I say give it a rest. The subject of the beta is uncertain to everybody, internal or external, and will be so until it's written in blue. Until then, I no longer find these games amusing.

Personally I would hope that Gifted wouldn't have even made this thread if he didn't think it would come to some conclusion in the "near future".

While I understand people getting frustrated over the wait, I think we can all agree that we're digressing from the main focal point of this thread.

We also have infractions about speaking poorly about Blizzard in the Forum Posting Rules and guidelines. I can see that the explanations so far are merely explaining how Blizzard's actions make them feel, but I think it may be un-neccessary to continue with that tone in the thread. (I hope you all can see my point on that)

I'm not saying that you shouldn't be frustrated at the wait, I'm along there with you 110%. But I have an opportunity to share something in the community. If what I share, in whatever form I'm allowed to share it, is frustrating. You do have my sincere apologies. But for those who are saying "It would be better if you didn't say anything at all from now on" I'll simply suggest that the easiest way to not know what I'm saying in this thread is to not "listen" to what I have to say... or however listening and speaking words in written verbage. ^_^

Might I repeat the disclaimer on post 1:

This thread has the potential for silly shinanigans, speculations of the wildest or most mature kinds and ultimately should stay on subject... in whatever form that is. Some have said that the contents of these threads can cause some stress due to the high expectations, speculations and fear of "teasing". I wouldn't have written this specifically in the first post of this thread if I didn't understand how you felt. Please understand that. Further discussion regarding the matter won't change too much. Gifts will come if I can get them, you as a community can try to glean the information provided, and if you find that it's providing too much stress, I would suggest many of our other discussion in our community that you can follow.

I think it would have solved allot of problems and allowed the thread to develop on its own merits and not just general beta rumour hype. I really feel Gifted's message is kinda getting drowned in all that. Additionaly it makes anythign he does have to offer us more of a dissapointment because he cant give us what we want most.

Just as an example SCL sent me an email today asking for my info for the beta test. In it they were kind enough to say specifically that this was not an indication that beta was soon. Btw thank you to LoA cause I definatly would have gotten my hopes up if you hadnt said that.

We all have to realize that as a forum we are a matchbox for beta rumours. The slightest abnormality we will interprete and feedback to each other as a sign of the impending Beta.

We can do better.

Your claims that beta is uncertain both internally and externally seem a little presumptuous to me.

Is it? The game has been in development for 7+ years. I think it's incredibly naive to think they haven't already had several internal dates set throughout that development period. Hell, Dustin himself has alluded to that on several occasions. Do you think he would have said "Final stretch" if it implied another year? Do you think the company would have paid to fly in fansite reps from all over the world to showcase single player?

Dustin himself could be at a bar with me, drunk out of his gourd, and let slip the fact that the beta was set to start next Tuesday. After the initial surge of excitement, I'd still doubt his words.

I've followed this game from day 1, it's still my most anticipated game, Blizzard kicks ass in every game they make...but that's how little faith I have in Blizzard when it comes to their development timelines.

This is something I _CAN_ assure you of. I am aware that there will be a time when I can go back and explain every gift and how they fit into the full puzzle. Unfortunately, that time is not now.

So no matter how much you feel I'm trolling or frustrating you, please feel reassured that one day it can be alleviated. I truly hope you appreciate knowing this.

Yep. I was also somebody sharing the excitement with several other fans when they thought the beta was coming out in April of last year, along with all the fans who thought it would soon be announced following the June fansite summit of last year, and along with everybody else when it was stated to be coming out in Summer of last year, only to be moved to 2010...and ultimately "Internal".

One of you jack asses is going to whine so much that Gifted will stop posting completely and then we can go back to analyzing new trees from a Blizzard Twitter update.

Just enjoy the ride and have confidence that Gifted will explain himself when he can.
