I think I have a slight notion as to what is going on, but then I'm pretty sure we all have figured out the vague idea of it.

I beg to differ. Archer's suggestion is a very good one. Think about it, does Gifted have a reason for excitedly dropping oblique hints about trivial news? Also consider the fact that it DOES put his reputation of reliability at stake, even though he doesn't claim to state or predict anything.

yes he does have a reason (more than one in fact), I've listed five possibilities. if you actually read my post you wouldn't be asking if he had a reason.

Gifted himself even decided to elaborate on which of the possibilities were true or not (in his opinion) by color coding them

the reason has absolutely no effect on the meaning of the clues in this situation

the "why" is elementary in this scenario, it's all about the meaning of the clues (the "what")

I think what's had me confused about all of this for so long is the uncertainty of whether or not there is a specific confirmable answer within all of these clues or just a general, correct idea.
