- Those of you who don't know what this is about.. speculate. Those of you who do, please don't speculate. Have fun and don't say I never gave you anything.

Am intrigued, and hopeful (even tho' I don't have a beta key).

And why do I have the feeling that things are proceeding even faster than expected?

Well, since it seems that everyone in the know seems to be bursting with malevolent glee and barely contained enthusiasm, no, not really.

But I'm very happy things are HAPPENING (even if I don't know the details).

I'll alleviate this speculation and state that if there was a closed beta going on, I guarentee that someone would have leaked by now and I wouldn't be on the forum posting ^_^

For above stated reason, no need for an NDA.

Due to the nature of this information, I suspect they will not.

what I can say is that all this is informations are comming from Blizzard random employees and developers of SC2 and not everything we know is being revealed and it likely won't be because we don't want to lose our connections and reliableness by leaking value informations

*nods* In terms of Spychi, I can say that his announcement and him speaking on information that he's obtained from his sources is all up to him. I'm revealing information from an unrelated source that I've found to provide likewise information to the information from his source.

In relation to your thoughts, Archer, If the goal was to generate public hype as requested by Blizzard, wouldn't it make more sense to go competitive with it and make it front page news? If you go off that train of thought, and replace your initial views on the "intent" then maybe you can find another theory that might be more accurate. I think that's more than enough to get you thinking about it in the right direction. On another note, maybe you can find some enlightening information in a previous thread that I've provided in these forums... once upon a time.

No offense intended likewise, I understand that skepticism is a common ally to logic when having to analyze information provided by non-official outlets

But instead of typing so much, I could simply say...

I hear ya, I personally don't feel the need to prove it, as it won't provide a use one way or another.

Ultimately though, if a person wishes to look through it with logic with a basis that might be on the wrong path, I don't mind giving them the ability to find a more correct path and take no offense to it. ^_^

I'll still provide "gifts" at this point and leave it to the community to interpret. One day when all this is determinately behind us, I'll be sure to elaborate on this thread to ensure people were aware what the meaning is. Who knows, if someone is able to get close I might be able to provide gifts to help them interpret how close they are to my information.

Spychi im not asking you to prove yourself reliable. As I said before this isnt a question of spychi's credibility. This is about us reasoning through the circumstances given the information we know.


Now lets just sit and analyze this. What do we know for sure from the information provided. Try to stick to what were almost absolutly sure of.

1) Gifted's information does not relate to WOW Cataclysm (note it may still relate to wow)

2) Gifted's posting appears to be a aimed towards a goal, specifically while he cannot put forward information he may be able to comment on other information provided

3) Gifted felt it was important enough to color code Wow! Gifted rarely does this with his posts.

4) Spychi runs a European fansite. He presumably has contacts with Blizzard and would not give out info Blizzard didnt want released for fear of damageing his reputation with Blizzard.

5) Gifted also presumably has connections with Blizzard. He has in the past served as a conduit to a mysterious Blizzard employee named Jack Doe. It appears highly unlikely he would fake such a person judging by both his charector and the consequences it would have with SCL's Admins.

6) We can assume that what Gifted says is to some degree backed by SCL Admins. While they may not know everything that Gifted knows they would at least have an understanding of rules regarding NDA and SCL's reputation to Blizzard.


Do we all agree on these? What else do we know for sure?

Add to that the facts:
-That spychi posted in another thread that the deadline for Beta is no later than the end of February,
-That there is a Blizzard Press Conference Feruary 10th
-And that they've begun a Beta sign up process for the press and pro-gamers

Now, I'm not one to jump to conclusions too hastily, but it does seem as if we're (at the very least) finally moving close towards Beta. Furthermore, Gifted practically said that the US will get the Beta much sooner than Europe and Asia (where it'll start according to him "weeks/months later").

There is a part of this we havnt examined yet. Who was here two nights ago when the two threads appeared predicting beta.


Note the actions taken by the Mods. The first one was erased quickly. The second one was left up as Gifted attempted to find out if the person had any more info.

Why would he do that?


Another thing to keep in mind is that SCL staff has in the past encouraged us to think its Beta even though they knew it wasnt. However like Aes Sedai they never say anything that isnt true. They leave it to the interpreter to come to the wrong conclusion.

Spychi's contacts, whether real or feigned, are anonymous. Which means that they're probably saying something that they specifically don't want their employer to know who said it. Same goes for Gifted's contact.

That's why it's called a "leak" rather than just putting information out there. It's done through unofficial channels that protect themselves from being fired by remaining anonymous.



The first one was just someone spouting off a date without even going so far as to say that he heard it from a source. It was just trolling. The second one was from someone with a contact that is at least potentially non-phantasmal.

Since things seem to be getting skewed, and information regarding this is hard to research across this thread of 40,000+ views today... I'll be nice and tell you a story about this phonecall I had once. I didn't truly care for it persay.. so instead, I read a book.

The book was rather random, lots of interesting subjects, but only a few pages held things that I felt were informational and not so random.

I remember the pages being 25, 27, 37, 43, 59, 65, 68, 73, 85, 97, 125, 131, 133, 142, 144, 146, 157, 159, 202, 228, 252, 270, 277, 295, 319. This book may prove interesting to read, I wonder if someone will take the time to put this together for everyone else...
