I was wondering, since just having played CnC3 for the first time, I loved the lore related Intelligence databases(even though EA changed things). What would be your opinion if SC2 had a similar feature?

Would be nice if you could explain what that is for us who haven't played CnC3.

They're adding that to the Singleplayer already, like through the Starmap on the Hyperion's Bridge, as well as the Bridge itself. It's going to be interactive so you can read up on lore tidbits if you wanted to. Units will probably have more description in the Hanger/armory.
They explain this in the first SC2 singleplayer demonstration videos.

I thought they were planning on adding something like that, large databases full of just interesting lore information, but they ended up not doing it, or not as in-depth as they planned.

Dustin said at Blizzcon that they planned to get the player in the universe, to make them meet the planets, learn some geography, history, and all lore stuff

Well it was part of their single player campaign presentation, I believe, so it was all video they provided to the public.
Basically you'd click on this computer terminal, and it'd tell you all sorts of things and histories about planets, characters, species, units, etc. Basically giving the game more depth with background stories and information, but I recall reading that they decided they wouldn't put as much effort in to it because they didn't think it would be used as much as they'd like (I'd sure read it all).
