Thread: Mothership Update

The Nomad and Thor sections are both hideously out of date. The only thing the current Raven has in common with the Nomad is that they build auto-turrets. Everything else has changed. And the Thor's changed a lot too.

Anybody else notice that Roaches got a bit of a makeover too? There are some Roaches among the swarm of Hydralisks. They look darker than before.

Oh my ears, stop with the annoying high pitched cloaking sound!
That is apparently what Hydralisks sound like when firing. I'm sure that'll be replaced before the game ships.

I really do hope the Thor gets a redesign. Considering a) The thor model has never changed b) every model in SC2 existence has changed c) We haven’t EVEN HIT BETA OMFG

No, that’s the cloaking sound. Hydralisks have a pat pat sound when firing. Oh well, sound effects are last in post production anyway. They usually take the longest too.

Oh I'm sure the Raven is fine - The Nomad on the other hand, was in the waste basket months ago, and still up on the site day after day.

Thor Im on the fence about - We'll see what happens, but I think this town ain't gonna be big enough for the Thor and the ST come sundown...

Wait, the shotgun-pump, 'clicking' noises near the beginning of the video?

I wonder why they don't just take down all the unit profiles, most of them seem to be pretty out of date.

It's funny that it seems from our polling that around 50 percent of people hate the Thor or dislike it and even more hate the art. Every unit should be universally loved. I would be very happy if they removed the Thor.

Um, what? Since when? Every unit in SC1 isn't universally loved; even ones that are useful aren't exactly beloved.

I would be very happy if they removed the Thor.
And what exactly would you do with the Thor-shaped hole in the Terran gameplay? From the few games we've seen, it's clearly an important unit for gameplay.

You stick the Goliath back in.

Siege tank handles most of the Terran's Anti-Armor needs, and the BC abiltiies cover a lot of the gimmicks the Thor has (high HP, damage soaking/sieging/anti air capabilities). Goliath fills in the ground support and ground AA hole left behind.

Get rid of the Siege tank. People love it (myself included), but its confining terran to SC Terran 1.5, not 2.

Anyway, glad to have the MS update, but I couldnt read the story. Reads like it was written by a 5yo. WTF! junk!

Too many people still think the thor is a goliath? The thor page isn't the only thing about the thor that's out of date!

The Viking is more Goliath than the Thor at this point.
