I enjoyed the story the most out of the update, the game-play and art were also a nice touch.

I think the new model is nice, im sure we'll have a 20 page thread on that soon :d

Though the old model wasn't bad at all either...


If they can pump this stuff out on a regular basis the wait almost becomes bearable.

I didn't care too much for it. It makes the Mothership seem weaker then even a normal carrier. Ah, maybe it was because the vessel was a prototype? Half of it all was also written as if the author took gameplay as the highest authority on how things work.

There were two things worthy of note though. It seems confirmed now that the Motherships were only brought out after the fall of aiur. And it's implied there were billions of Protoss on Aiur.

Vortex, wormhole transit and cloak is lore-wise established to be feats for the Mothership. Or maybe different motherships have different builds? The story implied there were differences between them.

Oh and from the looks of it the Zerg use Leviathans to assault starships. Or at least tried to in this case.

Egad! They updated the Mothership model! And it looks absolutely beautiful too!
Only thing I'm curious about is why the "time bomb" (which is what I assume the energy dome was) ability seemed to have no effect.

I wondered why the time bomb seemed to have no effect as well but after watching the video a second time I realized that the spine crawler stopped attacking. Does this mean it only works on defensive structures now? Only speculation though, since the ultralisk I think ran back and out of the bubble. Seems that the mothership is now the combination of the arbiter and corsair. Interesting.

Notice that Leviathan is not used as a verb, but instead as a noun.

It could be a new unit...or the new name for the Brood Lord...

I'm really curious, how would you ever use "leviathan" as a verb?

Leviathan's are mentioned in Shadow of the Xel'Naga, right? They're supposed to be those things we see in Starcraft (in the warp cinematic for instance) that transports stuff in-between planets? The really huge zerg creatures surrounded by the smaller stuff, or were they called Behemoths? I forget.

EDIT: Seems those were called Behemoths. So, maybe the Leviathan is some form of warship version of the Behemoths? I'm certainly hoping so.

Perhaps what it does is offering protection from projectile attacks. Would certainly make sense.

Told you. Called it that they are updating the mothership model. Carrier, Phoenix and Void ray models are probably all being updated as well.
