There is a major difference between the micro found in WC3 vs the micro found in SC. StarCraft is about using units that deal larger amounts of damage. No where in WC3 will you find a unit be able to get one or two shot killed by another unit. It simply doesn't happen. Instead its about keeping units alive and pulling units out of battles. A good game in WC3 can have no units fall in the first 10 minutes.

With all that said, WC3 can at times be a little slow. Due to the high hitpoints and low damage of the units, it is diffucult to deal damaging blows to another players army or economy. SC allows for surprise tactics and positioning where a 10 second difference in army positioning can equal 40 dead workers and a destroyed command center.

The brillance of SC micro is enjoying to watch because of one element. In a game where Macro Economics and large troop movements are key, players are able to deal a devastating amount of damage with relatively fewer forces with Micro.
