Post Terran's Advantage on Island Maps

We all know lift-off gives them a head start but Blizzard claims all races can have the edge on any game or map. Time for you to vote and give your comments/thoughts.

Consider that now in SC2 there will be more island expansions and possibly a yellow mineral one*

I voted they are the same for every race, and here is why:

    1) Zerg has the ability to move its defense and requires significantly less room to build from. Zerg can use its production boost to saturate faster than the other races and be protected from a rush, thus allowing them to tech and expand quickly

    2) Protoss has the ability to warp in units to any location, giving them a significant advantage over the other races in terms of strategic options and versatility. Protoss can boost harvesting, allowing them to tech slightly quicker. Protoss has a defensive unit that is more effective because it can hit ground and air though...

    3) Terran has the ability to lift off and expand quicker. It can also boost resource intake, however, since space is limited it will be harder to defend a terran base from a drop after turret deaths have created a drop point. Also, warp in can get in between turrets, it will be difficult to defend against ground. Terran can boost production, but they don't have the versatility that protoss has to warp anywhere. Vikings may be very good on this kind of map, but im not really sure...

At any rate, there are likely many more benefits to each race for an island map. Overall though, I still think they all come out even, or at least thats the goal, and thats the likely destination post-beta.

All races are going to be equally balanced as possible on the multiplayer maps, this is no surprise.

That wasnt the statement. The statement was that all races would be equally balanced on ANY map.

Without going into another huge dictionary battle, what does have the edge on any map mean than?

I voted a great one. They're even more powerful with the planetary fortress, and can use banshees to devastating effect. (Of course, the other two races do have good AtG units now.)

Without going into semantics, let's move forward with the spirit of the thread. Archer, what do you feel about the original post and the subject it creates?

And if you're looking for a source, look into the generic feel of all their questions in the map QA they provided here. Combine that with common sense, and it's quite discernable that the intent is to make the maps as balanced as possible.

    Q's

What's Zerg transportation like? What tech is it available, and does it use Nydus or Overlords?

Zerg are dependant on expanding fast, so if their forced expansion is on an island, they are potentially at a disadvantage, right?
