I want to see a new zerg unit made out of an infested/assimilated benglass or ragnassaur. That would just be remarkably cool.

    GO BLIZZARD GO!

I've been eagerly waiting for a Zerg unit based on a creature from Auir. So much potential.

By the time the 3rd part of Sc2 is released we are just going to be encouraging Blizzard to cannibalize everything they can into the damn game.

View it from the bright sight guys. Later when Starcraft2 is released, it will be other sci-fi games/movies who will be copying from our game.

Except, if they copy recent things like the Thanator, they'd just claim that those other things were what inspired them instead.

Here's something I noticed: When copying from older material, it's called 'paying homage' or 'taking inspiration from'. When copying from something more current, it's called 'a rip-off'.

Because the mayority of today's work is considered hollow or non-sense compared to the classics from the past that, according to their point of view, must be honored.

    I wouldn't say that.

A majority of the best lines in SC were taken straight out of Aliens, and it wasn't done because they couldn't make up anything better or because they felt they had to honour Aliens. They did it because it would be funny or cool.

There is a lot of modern work that isn't 'hollow' that's not directly based on classics. District 9 is a prime example.

Thing is, the 'Alien' franchise started in 1979. So, that could be considered an older piece of work. By 'new', I'm referring to things from the past few years (though exact cut-off is vague, possibly between 5-10 years).

Obviously, it wouldnt be an exact copy but rather a unique Blizzard spin on Thanator concept. A reimagined Bengalaas with six legs, large, deadly and sporting an aggresive headpiece. Blizzard could even go the nine yards and say the Bengalass have a connection with the Protoss which would explain why they vanish in the same way the protoss die.
That is only because of the Protoss's teleportation devices in their suits cause said flashes, so.....
