Default I need your wisdom folks (buying a computer).

Alright, so I'm going to buy a computer because my current one is already older than Starcraft.

I know about how custom building is cheaper, better, etc, but I'm not looking for a custom built computer.

So my friend (who's pretty knowledgeable about computers) told me to get one from memory express (he says all the ones from best buy and futureshop are crap).

    Here

There's a store in my city so I'm planning on going tomorrow to get a new computer. I'm planning on getting the $999.99 one, but I have absolutely no clue about video cards. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between that one and that $909.99 one is?

Also, any other words of advice?

The 4890 is a bit more powerful while the 5770 is a little but weaker uses less power and is cheaper...but for that price you might as well just get the more expensive one.

Yessir, I was thinking about getting the more expensive one too. Just wanted some confirmation.

Edit: My friend just told me the $999 comp doesn't support DX11 but the video card in the $909 comp does, and that if I want future proofing I should go with the $909 one.

Eh, the performance dock isnt worth it in my mind, I'd wait and buy the new radeon card that was just released when it goes down in price.

a laptop with an 8800 GT should be fine.

and maybe 2-8 gigs of RAM.
