    Yep...I said it.
    Nothing outshines WoW.

Announcing the game 'early' was not a mistake on their part at all. If SC2 were announced 3 months before it hit beta, there would have been a much smaller window for fan criticism and feedback of the current product.

The hype is in your head. The hype is greater the more you want it. Disappointment for it failing to meet your expectations is a byproduct of high expectations. The reason we want SC2 so badly is because SC1 was so well done. Stating that Blizzard has been on a downhill spiral since SC1 is putting them on the pedestal so high that they themselves can't top it. It's foolish nonsense.

I'm not saying every Blizzard game since SC was the best thing ever, but by no means do I think SC was their magnum opus. It was a good game, and they have made other good games since. Whether you like them or not is a matter of opinion, but the fact remains that they are all well produced and maintain a rewarding experience.

I must admit, I never liked WoW and when I started playing the trial version, I was like "meh, pay for a game monthly this quality, nope"
I think we've hit a critical stage of normal discussion here

look guys we're just not as excited about blizzard games as we used to. i haven't seen much in sc2 that makes me think they will capture the awesome dystopian atmosphere of the original, and all the new characters they're adding seem very superficial and uninteresting. i don't really imagine it will have much of a plot either, besides the typical blizzard mumbo jumbo about artifacts, psychic powers, and all-powerful ancient races returning. i mean of course i'll play the game but i'm really not expecting it to charm me like sc1 did. all the time i will be thinking, "this game had a fucking huge budget and was three years in development."

I laughed at some of these comments. Gifted, I hope to God you are granted the ability to ban or moderate for ignorance in the future I'd buy some SCL stocks if that happened

you would be probably first on the list since you can't accept someone's point of view on things, even if it's diffrent or even it's wrong
so if i was you i wouldn't suggest throwing stones at someone

I am curious to how their internal timetable for BNet2 has changed. Earlier this year they still had job postings related to it - I suspect they couldn't find people good enough / they got started too late. I find it hard to believe this year delay is a simple lack of good planning.

Wait to see how the macro system plays out in Beta. I perdict that before this is over were going to see an incredibly fun gameplay system never before seen in an RTS.
