If its put as part of the interface bar then it has a black background. Therefore its always clearly visible and not interfering with the players view of the battlefield.
Once again we are talking about the resource counters that are currently in the top right of the screen. Not the replay info overlay.

And if we keep the things where they are and given them a menu-button style border then the problem is also solved. No matter where the bar goes it's going to interfere with the players viewing the battlefield, so using this as an argument is a total fail.
Oh, and aesthetically minimap already makes the interface look lopsided, do you really want to exacerbate that?

Its closer than the top right. You can get all your info just from scanning your bottom.
However there are other advantages for putting it in bottom right. For players that dont just use hotkeys (say new players) they can see thier resource counts at the same time they are viewing the tool tips for each unit/building they are trying to purchase.

Menu buttons are top-left now.
Just a pity like 95% of new players will be expecting the resources to be top right (or top-bar at least), so you'd probably need to add in another tip or two for the express purpose of explaining why you moved it. Oh, and anyone who needs tool-tips to learn how to play should read the manual first. However there are other advantages for putting it in bottom right. Those arnt as vital to look at during gameplay. Nor are you looking at them that often.
Again I agree that the "its what people are used to" is the best arguement for leaving it as is. The question is which is better. Others have proposed making it customizable but I dont know about that.Just a pity like 95% of new players will be expecting the resources to be top right (or top-bar at least), so you'd probably need to add in another tip or two for the express purpose of explaining why you moved it. But they're still cluttering up the battlefield right? That was your main argument wasn't it?
Well going by the votes I'd say it'd do better staying where it is.Again I agree that the "its what people are used to" is the best arguement for leaving it as is. The question is which is better.
