You keep bringing up the point that it's "easier" to check the minimap when in reality checking the minimap hardly takes any effort.

Tell me, when you look at this.

What exactly are you looking for in the minimap that will take more than a second to register? The minimap is nothing but a quick information guide on the current status of the locations of players' armies.

Last but not least, are you ignoring the fact that the information box can be hidden? If not, you can stop bringing up the "clustering up the battlefield" point. If you look at the screenshot I just linked, it hardly clusters up anything at all even if it's not hidden,

Pandonetho were not talking about the replay information overlay. I should have clarfied that I was talking about the resource (and supply) counters in the top RIGHT of the screen. I admit that the original screenshot was confusing. It was one of the few recent pictures that showed the user interface.

Once again we are NOT talking about replay info overlays. We are talking about the ingame resource and supply counts in the top right of the screen.

Its threads like these that make think, for just a moment, that I should be a mod.

So I can lock Archer's trolling.

How is people misunderstanding the thread equate to me trolling? Or are you just trying to be funny?

Oh I see, my misunderstanding then.

Sall good. Again my bad for not clarifying in the OP.

That said, can you see my point about white numbers against a white tileset?

    I am completely serious.

There is NO REASON to fix what isn't broken. No one has trouble with the mini-map, no one has trouble with seeing the counter on ice tileset. Changing the counter's position from the decade old standard would cause more problems than solutions.

No intelligent person would believe this is a serious thread. It was formed from boredom and a desire to incite stupidity and argument.

The argument is so big because this should be in a "general UI improvement thread" and not on its own.

I dont know how other people's brains and eyes work, but i do have trouble keeping track of the minimap. This is a suggestion for the benefit of people like myself who cant keep track of things in their peripheral vision. A lot of male humans have trouble with this. When looking at units I cant keep track of both the minimap and my resources. I end up missing that my scout has already reached the enemy's base or missing that i have not been using up my minerals and am stocking up a thousand early game.

There are benefits to keeping them together and having only one area to look, however small.

Maybe there is something wrong with wording it as a "solution for a hard to see minimap". Clearly not all have trouble doing this. Its not a solution to a universal problem. Its a solution for the problems of some.

I say its a small enough change to not interfere people who already play fine and a significant enough change to help those that do need it.

Indeed. That's why women rule the pro SC scene. They're much better players because they have better peripheral vision.

If they made SC "War of the Cuddly Bears" maybe? I mean if there was a pro scene for Diner Dash, I bet there are more women there.
