    There are loads of technical stuff I can geek out about in the movie. (For the human technology)

    As for unobtainium - excerpt from Wikipedia
    Aerospace and electronics
    Engineers have long (since at least the 1950s[2]) used the term unobtainium when referring to unusual or costly materials, or when theoretically considering a material perfect for their needs in all respects save that it doesn't exist. By the 1990s the term was in wide use, even in formal engineering papers such as "Towards unobtainium [new composite materials for space applications]".[3] The word unobtainium may well have been coined within the aerospace industry to refer to materials capable of withstanding the extreme temperatures expected in reentry. Aerospace engineers are frequently tempted to design aircraft which require parts with strength or resilience beyond that of currently available materials.
    Extended version of what I liked about the movie + dislikes
    • I really liked this movie for it's visuals, hardware/vehicle design, acting, and the scientificly plausible stuff. (That's not to say that there wasn't a lot of 'soft scifi')

    • I couldn't stand the pacing of the movie - it was too short...yes short! There are so many things that needed more time.
    - What was so important about unobtainium apart from dollar value, how was it gonna save earth as the trailers/adds implied.
    - Never got an impression of what Jakes 'normal' paraplegic life was like, and ultimately I cared less about him during certain scenes where I should have cared more. (Like when he runs for the first time again)

    I could go on and on about these things. But simply put, most characters lacked depth. As a result of the above, the only character I cared about/felt sorry for was Ney'tiri. And lets not get started on the story. -_-'

    *EDIT* Found this, which I posted on another forum I frequent;

    Again, no, it's not about "white man guilty" especially since we see it isn't just white men working for RDA, but women and minorities too. The main point is that humanity should stop being greedy bastards, because when we are bad stuff happens to innocent people.

    Its not about HIS white guilt. Its WHITE PEOPLES GUILT. As in the VIEWERS. As in YOU.
    As Eligor said, you're being very simplistic with this argument. And like I said, racist. Not all white people feel guilty about their skin color. Not all white people adopt a different culture because they feel guilty. To say that they only do so because of guilt is a racist statement, which is highly ironic given what you're trying to argue.
    Superior capability in language does not necessarily equate to superior intelligence...but it certainly doesn't help your argument if you sound stupid.

    This movie was spectacular. If you have the opportunity to see it in 3D I highly recommend it.

    I wasn't too excited about seeing this movie but did so based on numerous recommendations. You can pretty much garner the entire plot from the trailer, but the specifics will leave you pleasantly surprised. Notably the astounding special effects, the creatures and flora of Pandora, and the main villian in the movie who's badass and doesn't hesitate to act.

    Few movies I feel are worth the excessive price of movie theater's these days, but this one is justified.
