Only thing that's certain is that the UED is portrayed as having a distinct European flavour to it, as opposed to the decidedly American Korpulu Sector. But that has a lot more to do with the story echoing American history than ethnicities per se.

Could be, but then, many languages have similar or identically pronounced words/or names; i.e. Lee (english/german, chinese surname) Or Obama (Kenyan surname and Japanese place name)

The only filipino singers I know that are internationally recognized is Lea Salonga and Charice Pempengco. Lea Salonga starred in Miss Saigon in the 80's.

Well, there was a pic of some factory place with Chinese on the wall so I would assume some people still speak chinese.
