Hy, this might be a bit random. But i 'm debating some other person about the protoss reproduction, and he is saying than it's sexualy, since they have males and females, and i'm stupid to think othervise, because othervise they wouldn't have 2 genders and hide their "junk".
But i disagree, since as i've seen the protoss have no externall openings at all.

So if you know anything more about this, or maybe even have any proff, to help my position, it would be apreciated very much

Just because they have males and females doesn't mean the fertilization has to be internal, or the mechanism in any way similar to Earth's mammals. In fact, it is debatable whether the concept of fertilization itself is applicable in the same way, for all we know the whole process may be entirely psionic.

There have been loads of discussions on this topic- I remember reading a long thread on Team Liquid about it and I’m sure we’ve discussed it here before in the past. Have a look around, you might find something useful.

Selendis has two... antennae? sticking out of the sides of he head. Males don't have that. I think those are Protoss "tits". Or maybe are used during reproduction to create something that looks like a mini-archon that then becomes a new Protoss? That would be Psi reproduction.

Pure speculation, however, but the Protoss were a psi race from the very beginning, so they could use something like that. They don't eat, and don't seem to incorporate matter into their bodies in meaningfull quantities, so i bet they don't lose a part of their body to reproduce. That could explain why they don't reproduce much, however

I don't recall what was actually debated in that forum, but besides common arguments you could employ, I don't think there is any "hard" evidence in there. Blizzard has chosen a stance of ambiguity in the instance of Protoss reproduction. So the whole mess really is just pure speculation, making most arguments valid where speculation is concerned.

So many debates on this I've had. We've gotten about 2 things we think is possible.

First, Some animals can recede their reproductive organs inside their body so they can be protected. Perhaps the same for the Protoss.


Second, They meld. Like an archon. Don't remember the entire theory, but ya, that's the basic topic of it. Unsure where the children would come from though.

I've read somewhere about the protoss children and their psi ,that in the process both parents give some of their psi to their offspring (and a brand new psi is created, from the mix of two), and that is also why they have a very low birth number, since they get slittley weaker in the process, which isn't a popular thing in a military society.
Does that sound plausible
