Thread: If you could ask Metzen/Chambers...

    1. Why don't the Protoss mess with time-travel to avoid tragedies ( like the loss of Aiur ) ?

    2. Would a Starcraft Movie ( let's imagine you're writing the script right now, for the sake of the question ) be from the Terran point of view, or more from an omniscient point of view regarding all the races as they interact with each other?

    3. If Zealots are teleported away just before death, what happened to fighting with honor, "my life for Aiur" and further more, wouldn't that mean there are a LOT of elite Zealots hiding somewhere, having survived 11 years' worth of Multiplayer matches?
    - You've seen StarCraft: First Contact -

    - Now, prepare for the Final Metamorphosis -

It might be a retcon. Other characters make it pretty clear that he died:

Tassadar: The executor told me of how you fell before the Zerg. How is it that you live and breathe?
Kerrigan: Are you ready to die a second time?

I'm thinking he actually did die, unlike other Dragoons.

Well, if I remember correctly what they bind to a Stalker is only the spirit of a Dark Templar, I can't see why they won't be able to do it with a Dragoon. Though it's obvious they can't bring back a warrior whose spirit has already fled the body, otherwise the Protoss would not have a concept of death, even if there are some oblique hints as to the essence of the Khala being a shared consciousness composed of the spirits of dead Protoss. So I don't think Fenix died at Antioch, though he probably was very much at the brink of death.

He might have been clinically dead - no more blood circulation. However, people can survive clinical death for extended periods. I'm assuming that this is what happened to Fenix.

Assuming they're not idiots, they would if they could. Since they haven't, they obviously can't.

"Fighting with honor" =/= "Die idiotically." Fanatical Zealots might be willing to give their lives in a good cause, but High Command would rather keep as many of them alive as possible, considering how few of them there are and how much effort it takes to raise and train a Protoss warrior. Plus, they don't always get teleported away - things break down or malfunction (see Fenix's blades), the suit gets damaged in battle, and if you get vaporized by something, you're not coming back. Also assumes they have something to teleport back to, which as happened on Char they did not.

Anyways, I would ask what their main inspiration for story ideas comes from, how do they go about writing the story (is it a collaborative process, is it dictated from above, etc.), and do they have a heirarchy of what is considered "official" or "canon" (i.e. does that RPG count? are there books/maps/missions which don't count?)
Superior capability in language does not necessarily equate to superior intelligence...but it certainly doesn't help your argument if you sound stupid.

There's a good chance that they're using figures of speech.
