Thread: WAYLTN v1

Sarov, I usually don't dig too much trance/electronica/dubstep, but that song was AMAZING. It reminded me of a more driving Burial, actually. Any recommendations for any Trentemøller albums to check out? I'm kind of a noob to that realm of music, so any similar artists that I could check out would be awesome too .

Anyway, I'm listening to "Firebreather" by Thrice. If I didn't hear this band about 10 years ago when I first started getting into music, I don't think I would be listening to the music I do now. Even though Thrice strays a bit from my central music taste, I still love them just the same.

    Heh. Thanks.

I do tend to listen to the 'electronic music' category (trance, techno, house, etc) more than anything else (I absolutely love it) but I never listen to an entire CD. Most of my music I find on a random YouTube search or while listening to another. Once I find a song I like, I'll listen to songs by the same artist. Sometimes I just randomly pick a video while listening to another song and it turns out to be one I actually like, much like Take Me Into Your Skin.

I don't usually recommend an artist but rather a few of their songs that are favorites of mine or that I think are the best introduction to that type of music. So far though, I've only found two songs from Trentemøller that I actually like enough to recommend to other people:

    Trentemøller - Miss You
Very good and has a bit of a sad feeling to it but it's very calming. I could fall asleep to it.

    Hidden Content:

    Trentemøller - Kink
It might not seem good at first, but it gets better at around 0:42. It's also, in a way, very calming but only at certain parts.

    Hidden Content:

As for other artists, I don't think I know of any who have a similar style, sound or feel to that of Trentemøller - so far or that I can remember. So here are a few electronic songs with vocals that I think are actually pretty good:

    Hidden Content:
    Samantha James - Rise
For this song it wasn't the lyrics but the tone of the vocals combined with the 'electronic' part. They both go together to make a song that seems both sad and happy, and at the same time, is very calming.

This song makes me sad and carries two messages for me: if you love someone you should believe in whatever they do and trust that they'll come back to you, as well as, so long as people hope, they will believe and stand together. I'm not sure if that even matters to anyone else but when I realized that, I seemed to like the song even more.

    Hidden Content:

Late Night Alumni - Light Reading
Like Rise, this song is very calming. It is different from any of the other songs in this post because it uses instruments as well as 'electronics'. Very good in my opinion.
    Hidden Content:

I have other songs that I like which belong to the 'electronic' group (trance, eletronica, techno, house, etc) but I'll wait to see if you like any of the ones I've suggested so far before I suggest more.
