Thread: New zerg unit concept -Tentacle

    Default New zerg unit concept -Tentacle

    I'm just wondering what are the people thought about a posible new zerg unit.

    Looking at the new spine crawler and it's attack animation ( which is kickass ), i'm wondering why don't the zerg have a unit with the same attack animation. Coould you envision an scorpion like creature, with the (spine crawlers) tentacle atack being a part of the zerg hive?

    Let's face it, the zerg are the least changed race at the moment and a bit dull, and they haven't realy received so much new units, compared to the other race. They could realy use something fresh.
    And what more zerglish than a unit with a huge spiked tentacle, that impales unit at distance I would love to see something like that. The old 'spines' that are shot out by almost every unit with an attack is mundane and boring.

    Something like the uberlisk, but an normal unit

    By the way I do think we should have a zerg unit with a tentacle attack. And it should be made from a drone and have to burrow in creep to attack.

    Gameplay vise the unit would obvisious have no splash, compared to an lurker. So the question is, do the zerg need an long range damage dealing unit capable of sniping/"impailing" single strong units?

    I just wannna say again how much i love it's animation, and the fresh air it brings to the zerg.

    doesn't the queen's attack animation fit under what you're looking for?

    There are two candidates that come to mind, the Roach and the Lurker, that or a completely new unit aded


    Or a crazy third option, an aditional mutation for the Ultralisk, so he could mutate into an Omegalisk.

    Right, because the Ultralisk wasn't doing enough damage, what with the 20x2 linear AoE and the 60-point anti-building attack.

    Let's forget about the Omegalisk sugestion , and focus on the original question.
