Thread: Purification clarified

    Default Purification clarified

Thanks to Newcomplex, I was able to put up this image of purification:

As you can see, the beams are clearly coming from a bunch of carriers. (Probably too many for them to be considered super carriers.)

And SC:L got it right in StarCraft: First Contact.

    w00t!

On the other hand, I'm disappointed in the fact that they clearly have no intention of redoing the Carrier model. Also, do you know what scene that is? Are they pretending that the Banana carriers didn't exist? (they've already done that several times with the Ultralisk)

    Shit, that's ugly!

Worst unit concept since the SC:G Ultralisk.

There's so much whining about that. It's not like it's a protoss riding on a goofy hoverboard. Also, they've been using the new carrier model in Frontline as well, so this shouldn't come as a surprise.

Ship and technology types seem pretty standardized across the manga and comics, even though it's done by a variety of artists. (For instance, C-14 rifles now always look the same.)

Also, do you know what scene that is?
The end of Issue 6. (Jim Raynor and the War Pigs are still on the planet at the time. Can you say "oh crap?!")

Maybe these are new carriers. The protoss lost much of their fleets with the Fall of Aiur, and the smackdowns they received in the Brood War couldn't have helped. So maybe these are new designs. Or maybe they retconned the bananas for the goats instead

(The comic takes place about a year after the Brood War.)

I was never that displeased with the updated carrier.

It appears, then, that these beams may be emitted from the warp ring contained within the carrier's hull, from which interceptors also emerge.

If so, my question is whether the warp ring links back to a weapons and manufacturing plant; contains its interceptors in an energized form a la the warp prism; or if the beam is just the warp ring being used to tear apart space-time...

    Go go First Contact.

EDIT So this is from the War Pigs series? The art style seems greatly improved -- it doesn't look like an amateur messing around with adobe Illustrator any more, but rather someone who knows what they're doing!

    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

in retrospect, while in game the new carrier looks pretty good, that illustration is downright terrible.

I wish they would make a starcraft anime like this...

Im sorry but shouldnt the purification ray be moved to the Void Ray (even if it was on the carrier in SC1)? Looks kinda fugly on carrier.

Imagining how awesome a purification by the real carriers would have looked makes me sad, and this indication that Blizzard seems to have to intention to get rid of the fugly goat makes me feel even sadder.
