Changeling looks really impossible to pull off from what I can see atm... I hope they fix that somehow.

For some reason, they changed how the mechanic works. Now, you have to manually transform them. The whole idea was that the enemy would never see anything but the transformed version. By changing that, they basically neutered the ability.Changeling looks really impossible to pull off from what I can see atm... I hope they fix that somehow.

Where does it say they have to manually transform? I thought the requirements for transformation was 10 distance units and for the Changeling to be immobile. The reason so many Changelings die in the videos is because they don't stop to transform, they just keep crawling into the enemy base.

Is that how it works? It still requires some manual intervention: they have to stop moving.I thought the requirements for transformation was 10 distance units and for the Changeling to be immobile.
To be fair though, it's still effectively a free unit.

I could see changlings being used in the same form as zerglings are used currently. Another curiousity... does a changeling trigger the xel'naga watchtowers?

I see the changeling as being extremely hard to master. It's a no brainer when you see a random guy standing or moving around your base that it's a changeling.
After all, what player decides to leave a single unit in his base? And what player doesn't watch his army when he's mobilizing it?
Sure there will be times when you look away from your moving army to macro, but as an opponent you don't know when that is.

I think that the problem probably was, that the Changeling morph ability/vision had less range than the enemy attack.
