lol ok ok it's just that people seem to be so scared of the HSM, when I think psi storm is far more potent. that's all.

neither is truly overpowered (or else protoss would always win in sc1)

edit: I won't waste a post since this is off-topic, but Dsquid, your avatar is freaking adorable.

HSM is scary because its use is far more unpredictable than Storm.

You see a HT, you KNOW its going to cast Storm, from as far away from you as possible.

You see a Raven... is it gonna cast HSM, or build an Auto-Turret, or a Defense Drone? Is it going to fire the HSM from far enough away for you to react, or will the Raven get in your face and fire it so you can't run?

I didn't say it's easy, I said it's easier. They said somewhere that HSM is supposed to be dodgeable. In any case they will most likely make it more easy to dodge since this is what they want out of it.

And you cant compare it to psi storm from SC1, if the HSM is droped right above its target you aren't getting away and it does instant damage, psi storm is DoT and u can move away.
You don't really have much time to move your units away from a storm either to be honest and especially when we're talking about zerglings or simply zerg as a whole who have pretty low HP. This is even more the case when you have more than one templar doing a storm. Another thing is that HSM needs to follow something and touch something to work while Psi storm can be cast anywhere and everywhere.

This I agree with. It was the same crap with the arbiter in SC1. At least the raven will die as well if he shoots the HSM too close. They could just add a minimum required radius (that would be far away enough from the raven) to help against this.

Why? That was never a problem in SC1, people got used to it. You could storm your own HTs which was the case when fighting Zerglings or Mutas, you could Ensnare your own Queens, you could EMP your own units etc...

...I just think it's a lame ability. Making it easier or more difficult to doge, at lower or higher levels of play, isn't going to change that. I don't think the Raven should have DD spells. I don't think the Terrans need more AoE options. There are plenty of other abilities it could have (such as Spider Mines) that would make the unit much more interesting.

But it was nice to see Mutas, Corruptors, and Brood Lords in use, even if they were used poorly. For one thing, I didn't realize the first two look so damned sexy in this game until just now! I mean, I've always like Corruptors, but this was sort of pushing it, even.

Sorry that wasn't clear I guess. I meant a minimum radius so that you have a better way of seeing it coming.

Oh that, well I guess they can do that. Or maybe do it different way with some effects.

I think it would be better if there was a targeting laser that slowly focused on the targeted unit, and then the missile would come out at a normal missile speed (near instant). It provides the same mechanic, and might be a bit easier to see, while also being more realistic.

That's actually the best solution imo. The targeting laser shouldn't take too long though (faster than a nuke for sure).
