Thread: Roachs regeneration - immortality

What much? Did nobody pay attention to BR2? Roach regen is variable; it seems to be faster when they're underground. Above ground it is maybe 5 Hp per second or so.
No, its not...It myb is different in fight and when it is not in fight, but there isnt Difference when it is burrowed and when is not...it would be too stupid, cuz you will Burrow them in fight, and make enemy to change the Target, so they can regen, but if enemy got Detectors, then it is useless...You sacrifice attack of the Roach for more regen, which is nonsense...And myb it has little regen, but that is only in this build or that is some glitch, since They didnt say anything about Roach regen changes....

I agree with you... I think Please, PLEASE, learn to type in proper sentences. Reading your posts is excruciatingly painful.

No chance. Look at the video around 11:07. The Roach was hit at the moment it started burrowing, and the fast healing kicked in the instant he was underground. There was maybe a half-second between being shot and burrowing. Compare this healing to the Roach's healing after the Marine had been killed a few seconds earlier.

No, it's clear that burrowing is what makes the faster healing happen. Above ground they heal maybe 5Hp per second; below ground, it's much more (2-3x the above-ground).

You may think it's a bad idea, but it's clearly how Roaches worked at the time of BR2.

As for whether it's a good thing, it does seem to solve certain problems. Roaches need Burrow to really make their regen work, which means they need specialized research. Unfortunately, unless something changed, that research can happen concurrently with building a Roach Den, so it doesn't slow them down or make them effectively higher tech. And they can't really change the tech level of Burrow research.

So it doesn't really solve the problems well. I kinda preferred that Burrow synergies with Roach regen without developing a specific mechanic for it. That is, the two just naturally work well together, rather than burrow speeding up regen.

I know what are you trying to say, and i believe you...It is same as Regen of Crypt Fiend from WC3, when you burrow them, they start to regen, but i can see that in WC3, but in SC2, as i said before, it doesnt make much sense :/

I understand that. But you need to post single sentences. No more "...", and no more "myb." Just stop at one "." and use complete words unless its a common abbreviation such as "SC" for StarCraft.

It's just an unwritten law of the universe. When correcting someone's grammar, the universe will ensure you will commit a grammatical error of some kind as well.

That indeed seems to be the way, which is why I only did it once myself.
