When you work in the field of web development, especially when dealing with online promotions, you need to be mindful of such exploits and loopholes. Otherwise somebody else will surely find them and take advantage of it. Building a secure application is part of the challenge of programming for a web.
It is never advisable to use Flash as a voting mechanism. Anybody with an aptitude for Flash can pull down the file, decompile it, and discover the techniques used to submit votes. It's completely open to the world, and thus an inferior platform for online voting.

Which is my point. Real, respected awards don't have nonsense like this. There's no "most anticipated" Oscar, is there? Or Emmy. Why? Because such an award is nonsense. The customers who follow the respective game determines who wins...
If SC2 won the award, what would that mean? That Blizzard has a lot of fans? That Blizzard's fans could out-vote other games? That Activision-Blizzard has better/more marketing muscle than other companies? And what would that tell you about the quality of SC2? Absolutely nothing!
When a movie wins Best Picture, that says something about that movie. Even when the Academy screws the pooch and gives it to something less deserving than its competition, they're still giving it to a movie that succeeded substantially on some meaningful level (even Titanic, riddled with horrible plot and hated characters, had absolutely gorgeous set design and effects).
There is a reason why Best Picture almost never goes to the movie that sold the most (IE: the most popular). That's because some peoples opinions are il-informed. You should not listen to the advice of some people on certain subjects, and you should listen to the advice of other people on certain subjects.
The VGAs don't mean a damn thing. They say nothing for the quality of the games that win the award in question.
You win the threadThe people who actually pay attention to spike don't deserve a vote. On anything really.
I'm generally against dishonesty, but for this, I'm making an exception. Please do it. Anything that delegitimizes Spike's VGA "awards" is perfectly fine in my book.I could probably figure out a way to decompile that Flash to allow for infinite votes from the same computer. It won't be the first time I've done that
