A PSWii60 controller is simplified, streamlined. For an RTS, having no keyboard blows. For an FPS who's main goal is the singular actions of aiming and shooting, the controller and analog sticks are superior.

You've admittedly never played Halo singleplayer, so your position on the game or story should be taken with a grain of salt. As for the multiplayer, there is nigh a difference between the two games, and thus your comparison is just as m00t.

Dude, any true FPS gamer knows how superior a mouse and keyboard is to a joystick. It's not even a debate. You've got full 360 precision control with a flick of the wrist, and a multitude of configurable buttons all just a finger away. Console controls require a modified UI to allow access to all available actions with limited buttons.

Take two players of equal skill but either control scheme and pit them against one another, and the mouse/keyboard player will always win. Dispute this fact and you're simply being naive or thick headed.

Finished MW single player and I have mixed feelings.

On the one hand, it's really like playing through a movie. It looks gorgeous (the lighting is bar none the best I've ever seen in a game) and it attempts some drama and an actual story, which is a plus. (unfortunately, like in SC's case, 90% of the drama happens in the mission briefings and we don't get to see those. Really, guys? SC was made in 1998...)

On the other hand, it took me until the very end of the game to realize the worst part about it all: I absolutely do not enjoy, in any way whatsoever, the gameplay in this game. It just does nothing for me. It works in the multiplayer I guess, but you can get away with a lot when you're pitting players against each other in competition. But in single player? Any time I came up on a new room we (myself and a team of NPCs) had to clear, I just sighed and hoped the end of the mission was drawing nearer.

Gears of War 2 SP, in fun if nothing else, blows MW2 out of the water.

Bull-friggin-shit. If you take a m+k FPS player and an analog FPS player and make them play with m+k, then obviously the m+k player will win. But if you take an m+k FPS player and an analog FPS player and make them play with analog, its anyone's game. Not because analog is inferior, but because it is a superior, more streamlined UI that anyone can quickly understand.

Most StarCraft pros are pros because they can do two things: memorize build orders, and effectively fight Starcraft's horrible UI. Its the same with an FPS. People who play FPS m+k are constantly fighting a UI that is completely unneeded. If m+k was better for FPS, then most FPS games wouldn't have joystick imput options, and yet they do.

Analog is the auto-mine, MBS, and auto-cast of the FPS genre. It lets the player do exactly what they want to do, instead of fight with the controls. Superior UI has nothing to do with how much skill it requires to use. In fact its the opposite: a better UI lets more people use it effectively. Thus, analog for FPS wins.

It basically equates to a game of Whack-A-Mole with a gun.

Not really, playing with analog is much harder.
Ever play Halo 3? I'm sure you have, you're spewing 100% bullshit if you think that someone who just jumped in to analog to play that against a Brigadier rank player is going to stand a fair chance. 100% bullshit. Streamlined my ass.

The only game where someone might stand more of a chance is COD, with its aimbot mechanic and the "die in a couple shots" gameplay where anyone can get lucky.

You've played Halo for about 5 minutes. Stop talking about a subject you know almost nothing about.

And stop being a dick to everyone, everywhere. When I do it, I'm funny. You, are just fail. So stop trying, its pathetic.

You're an idiot. I've played plenty of Halo 3 multiplayer, which the control scheme is what we're talking about here. I've played plenty of games with my Brigadier ranked friend as well. Stop trying to put words in my mouth, the only aspect I played 5 minutes of was the singleplayer. Get it through your brain man.

Nah I'm not being a dick to anyone, you're just PMSing because people disagree with you.

A newbie playing CS: S will get owned just as hard against someone who's been playing for years, if they both use m+k.

Both are difficult to learn (relatively speaking). The question is whether a 5-year veteran of FPS_GAME_X on PC will consistently beat, or lose to, a 5-year veteran of FPS_GAME_X on X-Box.

Ah, I misread your posts on MSN then. My bad.

Still doesn't change the fact analog is the better UI for an FPS, though.

I haven't seen a post from you in weeks that wasn't insulting someone. Grow a pair.
