Question, how do you guys know the reason it was changed is because of the transport thing? How do you know its not because saving collosus was overpowered?

If saving the colossus was overpowered, they could make it unable to affect massive units.

or saving immortals, or saving stalkers, or high templar or phoenix or mothership.

The point is you dont know why they changed it. But people are acting like they do. Heck it could just be that they dont like the idea of using the spell to save your own units.

    True, but
1 we like the idea of saving your own units with it
2 we are thinking of other reasons they may have disallowed friendlies and other ways around that
    (its called theorycrafting)

What Blizzard wants is what will be in the final product, but if they hear our idea, maybe they will say, yea we could do that.... and even if they don't, we like expressing our ideas.

Fair enough. I was just pointing out that the langauge people were using assumed that they had definatly removed self targeting because of transport when really that isnt known.

Well I do guess we were siezing on the invincible transport, because that did seem particularly overpowered... and that's really the main use..... you could also use it to get some other type of unit past base defenses, and into a vulnerable part of the base (High Templar)... but that seems less likely, and a Prism can carry multiple units inside it

Make it so that any phased units lose ALL abilities or functions of any sort, the only thing they can do is move.

They can't cast abilities, transform, or unload. This way, guaranteeing that your transports make it into an enemy base doesn't guarantee a successful drop as you'll have to wait till your transports finish being phased before being able to unload.
Maybe it's already like that. Cannot they only move while phased-out?

However, the unit could be crippled for some additional time after phase-out finishes, making it a bad idea to use it to enter an enemy base, because your unit would be defenseless, and able to be attacked for some time. That would make the ability more powerful against the enemy, but at least he has plenty of time to react, instead of just leaving the affected unit(s) there.

I can't possibly read the whole thread and then continue conversation. Instead, I'll just reply to the author.

How do you feel about this?
    I feel great, thank you.
I never even thought to phase shift mmy own units, I don't mean any offence to anyone, but idea seems idiotic to me.
Now imagine: you have a Zerg army coming to crush you: ~10 Ultralisks and ~50 Zerglings, while you have 5-6 HT, ~10 Zealots, ~5 Colossi. What do you do? Phase Shift Ultras and then beat the shit out of Zerglings. That is the real meaning of Phase Shift.

So does shooting Scarabs at your own units, but sometimes this is useful (targeting burrowed units). It's important to allow the player more freedom than you think they need, just in case they discover something useful.

So just to get this straight

Phase Shift makes the target unit unattackable? It takes no damage so I assume it's completely taken off targetting priority?

In effect, is this mini stasis?
