Ughh thats god awful. Theres so much clutter I cant even tell what that Siege Tank is attacking.
If you can't see the explosion you might be blind.

How do you tell the difference? It does look like normal terrain to me.

    I AM SO CONFUSED

and I'm using the same tileset too

SC2 used to be more cartoony but now it's exactly how it should be. It's actually even darker now.

    Look at the old creep:

then compare with the image above. Sc2 is darker...

Now, I must recognize that from what the video shows up(2007 show) to now (BR4), they've improved it a lot! (lighting system is better I guess) I just hope they keep it up!
I don't know if I exaggerated, but I think it's true: from what we see in those 2007 videos compared to the recent Battle Report, units and most things have improved their readability a lot. However I was pointing towards the map which as I said (and can bee seen in the comparison pictures) still retains some WC3 feeling

    This thread is beyond idiotic.

Wankey obviously has absolutely no understanding of A) how SC1 pro games are commentated, because they have a lot of the things he accuses SC2 of; B) who the Battle Reports are geared toward; C) the new gameplay elements and strategies players are making up on the fly.

Wankey, have you already forgotten all of the crazy Disruptor micro in BR3? The Hellion+Medivac or Medivac+Ghost micro in BR4? Oh, but you didn't even notice the crazy Hellion+Medivac impromptu micro, did you, because the commentators didn't point it out!

So the stuff they point out you don't like because they point it out... the stuff they don't point out you don't GET because you don't catch it.

Yes, this argument completely makes sense. Yes.

As for Lost Temple... lol. Jungle tileset actually looks like Jungle in SC2. 'nuff said.

Uh huh… the ghost micro.. Plop. aim, shoot… Wait. Nuke goes off… What did Boxor have to do for the same? Send in ghost, BLIND observer, Distract enemy with marine and medics… EMP the nexus THEN nuke.

    Hellion Micro… click, wait…

The Disruptor micro was interesting thought. That I’ll give you.

I sure have a good understanding of how the pro games are commentated I watched a lot of Klazart’s crazy commentary (lots of fun)

I’m sure the reason why SC2 is pretty boring is because of the commentators themselves. I dunno why the SC1 community doesn’t simply pick up a BR and recommentate it.

It's Wankey, he complains about everything, and calls everything OP just because he doesn't like it.

Nukes are not effective in the pro-league. Boxer nuked what, a no name B class Zerg? Great, he's good alright, but he'll never pull it off against real professionals of today's standard.

    You're not the intended audience.

You'd need a really good audio program to filter out the shoutcast, I'm guessing. And I don't know if I want to listen to people who might be really good at StarCraft I but don't know StarCraft II very well, and spend all their time BMWC about things like auto-mine.

Wankey, how would the community make a informed commentary on a game that isn't even out yet

    zomg...

People can't seriously be this dumb.

Now, I'm not saying what the tilte of this thread says, but I'm pointing out some concerns about SC2.

I don't know if I'm too obsessed with the realism feeling SC1 had," looking through the lens of nostalgia" as you say. but I can say it still retains something from WarCraft that I don't like because it's not meant to be in Star Craft: the "magic" glow some things have.
Now I'm not the only one complaining about it, just watch the videos I posted, units aren't as recognizable as they should be due to ingame lighting system making them glow!

    EDIT
Now, I must recognize that from what the video shows up(2007 show) to now (BR4), they've improved it a lot! (lighting system is better I guess) I just hope they keep it up!
This just in. Similar Artists will draw in similar ways.

I can't believe that guy had the gall to call himself a good game designer.
