Somewhat interesting because of its somewhat high sample size. Here's some of my conclusions (feel free to disagree):

- Best campaign is Legacy of the Void, but the prologue and epilogue drag it down.
- Best characters are Zeratul, Abathur, then Alarak. All aliens.
- Worst character is Amon. Probably because everything is retconned to be his fault and all he has is Diablo 3 style taunts. Worst real character is Hanson.
- Best protagonist is Raynor, or Nova if we count Covert Ops. Kerrigan is the most controversial.
- There are more people who's favorite was the epilogue instead of LoTV prologue (literally only 1 guy of 203). Guess people hate prophecies. Who would have guessed? Oh wait, me and everyone else when WoL was released.
- Best villain is Mengsk (ugh). SC2 just had ѕhitty villains now that I think about it. Literally nobody was good.
- Best lab technician is Abathur.
- Best sidekick is Horner.
- People are really split on Vorazun. On one hand she's a generic good guy and a copy of her mother. On the other, there's nothing really wrong with her and she didn't blink at volunteering to blown up her own freaking planet. That deserves props.

1. Not everyone thinks about the SC2 campaign story every day like you. Some people play it once and forget about it.
2. Not everyone voted 2 years ago. You can still vote today.

Best characters are Zeratul

Zeratul!? He's hardly in Sc2 and when he is... well, it isn't really Zeratul is it? I guess everyone must like him because he has the most action scenes (two againts Kerri and one with Arty ending in his sacrifice).

And yet he's not voted as one of the "best characters" in general? Curious.

Best villain is Mengsk (ugh). SC2 just had ѕhitty villains now that I think about it. Literally nobody was good.

Considering that the only other alternative in villainy is Amon (who is also voted the worst character), it has to be Mengsk by default... He did feature, more or less, in two-thirds of the trilogy afterall.

I really don’t think this poll is an indicator of quality. People just voted for characters they thought were fun.

1. I'll give you that, that's what happened with all 3 CoD MW games: too many played the campaign only once, and from that point on it's all multiplayer. Maybe they also didn't invest too much into it.

2. For what? Last time I checked TL (which was well over a year ago) they disliked the storyline.

I'm willing to bet people felt he was too damn stupid. The transponder in Tychus's suit was discovered mid-way through the campaign, and Raynor knew Tychus had a gun to his head, but he didn't investigate this further. Furthermore, this was before Valerian even told him about what the artifact might do, so at that point in time Raynor only saw the artifact as a way to fund his revolution, it had nothing to do with Kerrigan.

Now sure, it might not have been possible to remove the transponder, but Raynor could have at least tried to figure out who was behind it. Even at the beginning of HotS Kerrigan was telling Raynor that maybe he should have let Tychus shoot her.

That's my guess on why the fans didn't vote for him that way.

^ Uhhh, I was just remarking on how curious it is that Raynor was voted "best protagonist" but not one of the "best characters". I have no idea what you're going on about here though.

I weep for the human race seeing Zeratul get that many five stars, he really sucked in this game.

When comparing parts of SC2 to other parts of SC2, a piece of crap is going to inevitably be on top. I will say, though, I actually love Tychus Findlay as a character. Granted, his storyline is complete crap from beginning to end, but he himself is the only thing in SC2 with real Starcraft "flavor" -- the redneckness, the dialogue, the impulsive actions, and such is just so Sarge and Lester, so to speak. If he were just some side character attached to the campaign, he would work fine. Trying to make him plot important is what ruined him.
