Nah, the dropship is fine as it is. The cooldown should be with the dropped unit. Just like the reaver/shuttle combo in SC1

Exactly the idea. Dropship load/unload cooldown is then given the animation thingy. It's kinda absurd to look at, how the dropship works now.
Gameplay + Aesthetics >>>>> Gameplay >>>>> Aesthetics ?
Maybe just a little swoop down, maybe just to show the dropship is loading/unloading. It doesn't have to actually drop down to the ground. Kinda like just whoosh down a bit for say, 0.25 secs? Pretty pweeease?![]()

What is the 'effect' going on at 16:20 (official BR4 file timestamp) in the bottom right corner of the screen?

Did anyone else notice that at 09:22 (official BR4 timestamp) when the ST gets picked up by the DS, that the stalker's volley changes direction midflight - from the ST as the target to the DS. It shows the hit animation on the DS, so I assume it would also damage the DS.
It appears the stalker attack is not guided whatsoever, so what is the reason behind this? Also, a little earlier at 08:05, Rob Simpson mentions that stalker volleys simply 'miss' if the target disappears (ie: picked up). That implies that the volley doesn't retarget, as appears to happen here.
Comments?

It merely followed the tank under the dropship, and vanished. I doubt it did any damage, it's just a visual effect.

errr.. hardly. You can even see the hit animation on the DS.

But the Medivac (they're not DropShips anymore) didn't take damage. It's just a visual glitch. The Stalker shot is programmed to go where the unit is. When the unit enters the Medivac, its position becomes that of the Medivac. You can even see the hit animation on the DS.
Remember: all games are an elaborate disguise. Behind the scenes it's all just numbers being shoved around. The visuals only match the numbers if they program them properly. When they don't, a glitch like this occurs.
