Thread: Am I the only one who's pissed...

That we don't get to use Oracles, Disruptors, Observers or Prisms at all during the LotV? I'm most pissed about the Disruptors and Oracles never getting any show time in the campaign. We couldn't have a rogue band of rescue-able Oracles introduce themselves briefly during a mission? Could Disruptors not have a few seconds on Cybros?
    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

Yes. Blizzard's dedication to not having enemies use Cloaked units confounds me. I figured in Wings of Liberty it was because all the detection units other than Missile Turrets were optional, but apparently not. So no detection necessary. I mean, maybe if this were just a lower difficulty thing? Their removing all methods of transport from the game - especially Nydus Worms in Heart of the Swarm bothers me even more.

To be fair, I'm sure transports can lead to some exploits that'd make it really easy to beat the mission or get achievements. One of the missions in Subjection suffered from this. :P

I used mind control to get units I couldn't normally build.

Oh, I'm sure that's the reason, yes. But I still think it's quite upsetting. I don't know, I'd rather have some people be able to exploit easy wins than remove the entire facet from the game.

To be honest; not really. The colossus and reaver and high templar, along with the Spear of Adun's abilities, give us plenty for AoE, there's not much practical use for transports, and Oracles are only good for melee raids and are outclassed by most other starships. I don't see much they could add to the campaign's gameplay.

I ARE A PROPHET! I've predicted three major aspects of SC2 correct, more or less.

June 2007 - I predicted the Protoss campaign would give you new tech as you conducted diplomacy among tribes.

    Hidden Content:
July 18th 2010 - I predicted Raynor would broadcast information of Mengsk's actions on Tarsonis to discredit him and incite rebellion.

    Hidden Content:
June 16th 2010 I predicted the Voice in the Darkness was the commanding force behind the Hybrids. I'm calling it half-right.

It's not about adding to gameplay, but allowing the player to make his own decisions, as well as replay the level any way he wants.

The stasis mines wouldve been really useful dealing with the waves of baddies...and warp prism use wouldve undermined the first tier of spear's abilities; but on that point i woulve rather had more interesting options on that tier and keep a prism as my front line warpin tool.

Oracle could have opened a whole section of casters that i dont think blizzard was prepared to offer: dt oracle, auir arbiter, mothership? (then throw in a different taldarim or DT captial ship)

That makes sense, actually. With the hints Arbiter and Mothership weren't supposed to be part of those tiers anyway, I could see them occupying the flying caster tier with the Oracle.

    Agreed.

all it does is limit the gameplay (which was one of the main issues with HotS and why it was not even remotely fun)
