Thread: Hey! look at what I've found!

Spanish translations had always been horrible, and to make it worse, Blizzard distributes only the localized versions here. That's why i buyed the game, then downloaded the english version.

To make it worse, the spanish version isn't neutral at all. Their accent is almost unbearable to me. Mexican translations tended to be way better, they avoided local stuff and accent. In fact, the Simpsons translation sounds better than the english version to me.

Most movies are just seen subtitled here, as the original soundtracks are way better most of the time.

I find the Spanish version to be barely bearable. I don't like it at all. The voices just sound so wierd. The Japanese version on the other hand is alright. Although I only watched a tiny bit. The funniest part is when the marines say "Go go go". It just sounds funny to me.

I think that even while the Japanese version is cool, the protoss are... I guess a little bit awkward... maybe due to sound effects.
the way they pronounce "En taro adun": "En taro adän"... it's just strange.

Agreed, Spanish from spain is ugly due to the accent. the best anime dubs come from mexico I think, because they don't have an ugly accent.

As I said, the Japanese version is a lot better than the Spanish one (and you know Spanish, is my native language!) However the Japanese version, while good at terran, great at Zerg, is not that good with the Protoss, they sound quite strange IMHO.

Well guys, did you check the last video I added? Korean videos are quite funny!

I don't like Spanish much though.
Of course I'm a bit biased since I understand a bit of a spanish but almost no japanese at all.
I don't understand either language, and I found the spanish ones horrible. Reguardless of accent, they just completely lack personality/tone of voice.

Kerrigan sounds pretty allright to me.

mmm i dont know... in animes and tv. series mexico, chile and venezuela are pretty good but not for videogames.
The Halo 2 version (wich was translated and recorded in mexico) was really reaaaally bad, also the GRAW 1 & 2 translations werent alot better...

in the other hand in my opinion the best translations to spanish in the videogame story are Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, and Metal Gear Solid for ps1.
they had the spanish accent and some local terms, but man, they va just fit perfectly with the characthers in those 2 games.

The Japanese Zealots were the best, them and the Japanese (Terran) Advisor - something about it all just sounds so natural.

However, It was hard not imagine 'French' Kerrigan at one of those mini cafe tables, smoking a cig.
    "Wait.....no Gzhee-Gzhee.....?.....whu......Why no Ghzhee-Gzhee?!?!?!?!"
