Thread: Hey! look at what I've found!

Exclamation Hey! look at what I've found!

Well, while we're bored waiting for any news from SC2 like BR4...
why not just take a look at this?

    Star Craft comparison: Spanish/English

    StarCraft, spanish/english voices

    Star Craft japan version

I think the Koreans are more eager to play SC since they use the original English version: (you can see the by captions that it's not translated)

So, what do you guys think? seems like translating StarCraft is usually not as cool as the original voice acting. Really unique!
    EDIT
I just added another korean funny video, enjoy!
    EDIT 2
Found some more with the spanish version so you can laugh.

Hey the Japanese voices actually sound pretty good! I wonder how litteral the translations are...
I don't like Spanish much though.
Of course I'm a bit biased since I understand a bit of a spanish but almost no japanese at all.

Both English Templar and Archons sound much better then the Spanish ones. Though Fenix was pretty cool in Spanish.

    Back with all gun's blazing.

Wow spanish version really suck balls. I thought the french version was the worst (which I own btw) but I guess I was wrong.

Yeah I heard the french version while playing on friend's computers... it's really bad too. Especially the unit responses and the unit translations (stuff like Porte Nef for Carrier, and Cuirassé for BC etc...).

omg I know! The worst is that my cousin used to only play the french version and so he only knew the french names and kept using them when talking to me about Starcraft. He was like "Ouais j'ai fait un 2 portes disciples rush" and so I was like *face palm* *beat him to death*. I eventually made him install the english version.

haha so true : ) I hate it when my friends use the french names... sounds so amateurish! I also managed to convert them by using arguments such as: "the hotkeys will help you play better"

(I should add I just spend a minute trying to imagine "Ouais j'ai fait un 2 portes disciples rush" in a canadian accent^^ It sounds so exotic here in france!)

Oh don't worry, it sounds pretty exotic to me as well No actually the right word would be otherworldly at this point.

While certainly, the Spanish version isn't the best (in fact, it's somewhat ugly, even considering that Spanish is my native language.), the Protoss at the Japanese could be better IMHO.
Koreans did the right thing by using the original English version.
Thanks for the French version sandwich_bird. Any other curious translation?

this reminded me, hotkeys vary due to the translation so (if I remember well) the Protoss Carrier is Protoss Porta Naves in the Spanish version. However, looking at the japanese version, it seems like they use the original English hotkeys.

Most of the japanese units are pretty literal in translation. Some English was used in them as well. Rine: "Stand By, ok" "Super"
    Zerg was the same
and Protoss used "en taro adun" with some other sayings like "roger"
