Default New Short Story - Children of the Void

I'm pleased again, though this time for the content more than the writing. We get to hear how the Dark Templar feel about all this retaking Aiur business, and we get to know Vorazun and Mohandar. Slightly annoying how the author exclusively uses the term "Aiur protoss" and never Khalai.

Then, spoilers, some shit goes down.

Here Protoss are described as having violet blood? I could have sworn the last story says they have blue blood. Also this makes Zeratul's vision of the future a bit off.

Yeah, tell me about it. "Aiur Protoss" is a very odd term for them to keep on using since it's like the Terrans in the Koprulu Sector referring to the UED as "Earth Humans". Because it's such a lame term, maybe the Nerazim are using it as a "dis" to the Khalai?

Nerazim have purple blood due to usage of the Void probably.

You mean the vision of a vision of a vision? Like a game of whispers, I'm not surprised some bits of it aren't all true (what with Mohandar being dead). Besides, the whole point is to avert that "future" so really, that "vision of future" isn't really the "future" because we know it ain't gonna happen anyway.
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

Not entirely. That vision of the future was not a concrete projection of the future. The Overmind saw bits and flashes of the future, and formed its own conclusion from it. The vision from "In Utter Darkness" was the Overmind's conclusion. Therefore, all it showed was what the Overmind THOUGHT was going to happen.

at this point the intervention Zeratul much things have changed, possibly in the timeline of the vision, there was not a group taking the citadel, because they are more concerned that the hybrids is out there taking control of the swarm. or more unified because Kerrigan died. therefore in the vision the incident that killed him on the current line, did not happen

It is also possible that events have diverged sufficiently from the Overmind's perceived vision to lead to these changes in history and timeline. A sort of butterfly effect. Perhaps in the Overmind's vision, it was Vorazun who fell to Taelus, not Mohandar. Or perhaps this rebellion never took place at all.

It's also interesting to note that the Void is essentially confirmed to be an alternate reality conterminous with the physical world. Maybe when it is said that Amon is hidden within the Void -- he is literally in a parallel reality. To draw a parallel, think of Nightcrawler from the X-Men, as he bamfs through the Brimstone Dimension.

    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

Or it might have to do with events with Protoss observation.

In the past, many had said that the lack of Protoss activity in WoL and HotS implied they just sat on their bottoms and knew squat the whole time.

Perhaps that's not what really happened. Maybe the Protoss DID see what was happening during the events of WoL and HotS (to some degree), but did not take any action. In comparison, in the ORIGINAL timeline that the Overmind envisioned, they didn't even know about the events (remember ALL of the events of HotS were of the altered timeline)

Therefore, if the Protoss did know about these events, perhaps this caused events on Shakuras to happen differently
