    True.

It's also annoying that the Void also somehow refers to the vacuum in space.

Hence, the confusion. Even with appropriate context, it's hard to know whether using the word means all the definitions at once or one particular definition in any given appearance.
    Yeah.

Probably none. Maybe they wanted to have two separate energy sources to avoid overloading one energy source (if they had decided to use only one that is) and to provide more flexibility (reducing the downsides of having "all your eggs in one basket"). Besides, the Psionic Matrix seems to be more limited going by how it's used to power Protoss structures like needing a Nexus, etc. You wouldn't want that to affect your units in the field - it'd be more efficient if their tech can draw psionic energy from the user itself.
Hmm, sure. However the Psi-Matrix works, a lot of Protoss machines already draw energy from it. This is one of the few times that the Khala has been mentioned to be drawn upon artificially.

Well, there's always what Tassadar and Adun did.

Maybe they're trying to emulate that, but in a space-craft sized giant gun to shoot at Zerg?

With a Void Ray, the Protoss can completely side-step their SC1 issue with having to get a Dark Templar to kill an Overmind or Overmind supported Cerebrate.

So, even if there is no more Overmind now, at least the Protoss thought ahead and developed a weapon perfectly capable of taking out future Overminds.

It's a pity this was never telegraphed initially.
Well, it's kind of hard to telegraph.

You have a two page manual excerpt on it over a decade ago, and now you have a novel on it ~seven or eight years ago/

The more details you inherently will get with the novel will mean that preconceptions made on two pages are more likely to be wrong.

Adun, for example, never did the "combine both energies" thing until the Dark Templar Saga it seems.

Here I am, thinking the early Nerazim had/needed to use the void because they crippled themselves by cutting their nerve chords when they really already knew how to use it and were wanting to use it well before they even cut their chords off.
The DTS does have some Dark Templar already cutting their nerve chords on Aiur.

That's why them using psi-powers without the Void and the Khala is important.

After the Dark Templar left on the Worldship, whoever had nerve chords left, also cut them off.

As to the void helping them use psychic powers, would that mean Dark Templar can summon and control psi-storms then?
    I don't know. Maybe?

Two Dark Templar can become normal Archons after all.

If not, I wonder why since they already need "discipline" to "control" the void afterall. Can't be that hard to apply that "discipline" to psionic storms.
    Different discipline?

The Void acts differently than the Khala which acts differently than the innate psionics.

You have to treat each energy differently than the other due to how they work.

    Relevant to Artificial Khala idea.

At least the idea is floating around in Blizzard's collective heads in some form.

That clip made me die a little on the inside.

    Really?

    Metzen's a huge Transformers nerd.

Given that this is just a skin, I don't see any problems with it.

Infested Tychus and High Templar Zeratul were more tasteful, but Mecha-Tassadar is still fun.

The fact that Tassadar is voiced by Michael Gough alone in Heroes of the Storm makes me happy the game exists.

Wait, why then did they get Michael Dorn to voice the Tassadar ghost?

    No clue.

Michael Gough was working for Diablo 3 at the time too.

I'm just glad that he's back as Tassadar.

I've been wondering that, too. They either wanted more star power, seeing as how they went with Tricia for Kerrigan's part; or that's not really Tassadar! Bum bum buuum!
    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

Because voicing Tassadar was on the sound team's checklist and they wanted to cross it off as soon as possible.

The money spent on hiring this "star power" would have been better spent on the script...
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

    Maybe a better editor?

Tons of good stuff from Wings and Heart were cut for little to no reason and would massively improve the story's quality IMHO.
