Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

I assume the kool-aid is spiked with whatever narcotic is necessary for LotV to make sense.

I'm surprised that nobody seems to have brought up how redundant the story of StarCraft 2 has gotten, even with what little information we have been given about LotV.
I really dislike the idea of the Protoss retaking Aiur and then losing it. Why? Why not just have the whole corruption thing happen on Shakuras? Didn't the Khalai Protoss settle down there?
I think it would have been more effective if Blizzard had the Protoss lose their second homeworld rather than have them retake their first homeworld offscreen and then lose it in the first mission.

Donny: You're slightly off. The first mission arc -- the first three missions -- revolve around the Protoss fleets converging on Aiur and invading it, only to be curb stomped. Aiur is the homeworld and mecca for all Protoss, Khalai, Dark Templar and otherwise. It is from this world that their technology and armies are also empowered by the psionic matrix. It's also a political ploy by Artanis, an attempt to unite the fracturing Protoss tribes into a cohesive whole, once and for all. Retaking the homeland is the one thing all Protoss agree on.
Of course, Artanis' plan backfires, and the tribes are fractured and scattered. This is the point at which the Protoss must re-evaluate their priorities and culture. Perhaps at that point, their focus on a single world will be surpassed.

Are you kidding me? I've been harping on this since WoL came out (and daresay even before it was released).
That would not do. Given that the Protoss are the butt-monkeys of the Starcraft universe so far, having them lose Shakuras when they have their combined might of Khalai and Nerazim protecting it would make their eventual(?) victory over the Hybrids and Amon even more hard to swallow in terms of being remotely possible. I'm already finding it hard to believe the Protoss still have any real strength left to invade Aiur at all as it is given the tremendous hardships their race has suffered. To me, this start of LotV as Vok has described seems like a gentle retconning of all the Protoss past phyrric victories into just mere reboundable defeats.

Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

Honestly, I think the best option for Protoss at this point should just be to go away. Just leave. Send their civilians off to some distant place where they can start over again, and don't look back. I don't know if that would save them, but it looks like their only hope.

Have you played WoL?
Protoss are expendables. Heck, we saw Selendis sending her troops in a wanton battle against Raynor like it was no big deal
