In the most recent batch of beta links in the beta link repository, there is some information in them that have existed for months and I've not seen discussed at all in any forums
For both persons involved, I think it'd be a shame to see you fighting on what defines an item as "old". It's only as old or new as the individual who reads it perceives it. Even if a person found this out a month late, it would be "new news" to them, even if it's old to the general StarCraft populous.

what? when? you never did...
and for the past year alot of things have changed, especially after before BlizzCon 09, I get first hand informations straight or from Blizzard or from friends (StarCraft2.net.pl which is an authorized fansite) also sometimes I ask for help from Gradius or LoA. So no my credibility is reliable. It's just that I like to have fun on these forums and troll a bit making fake threads or what-so-ever.
I see that we have alot of misinformation here about me so I would like to make some things straight for people.
I am writing news, articles and I provide Q&A for our fansite with few friends, ask Negro - he is a member here - if he doubts in my credibility.
I apologize for the "tard" thing but I got nervous for a while.
I actually don't blame anyone, it's my fault that I created such opinion on myself here.

Do you actually think anyone here believes you have some magical inside source?
If the Battle.net code was too unstable to handle users, there is no way in hell that Blizzard would allow people to merge their accounts, even voluntarily. There is no way to know how many would merge their accounts. No chance Blizzard takes a gamble like that.Jack Doe: Saw both the screenshots and I can say that your ass is right. We did overcome a major code milestone that allowed us to do the manditory account swap in November.
Integrating it with a game REQUIRES that there be a "WoW side" and "Starcraft side". Is it just magically going to work without any WoW/SC2 specific code to integrate it?Jack Doe: This milestone affects the progress of battle.net as a whole. There is no "WoW side" or "Starcraft side" of the project at this time. A lot of people can't grasp that it's a different project even if it integrates with a game.
I follow the WoW community pretty closely and I haven't seen a single mention of that going live before or even in Cataclysm. There is only one major patch left for WotLK and it is already on the PTR. Huge features like that usually do not get added in small minor patches. On another note, there are sources in the wow community that say that "cross realm communication" is going to be implemented into wow before Cataclysm.
Pure speculation. Do I expect StarCraft 2 to be released before Cataclysm? Yes. It doesn't mean that it will though. As Starcraft 2, and therefore Battle.net 2.0, will be released before Cataclysm, therein you will find the basis on my speculation.
The bottom line is that the Battle.net login/verification servers have been up and running for many many months. If this news had been about them just now getting them up and running I could see people thinking it was good news for the SC2 beta, but it isn't. They simply want to get everyone moved over to the new system (that has been implemented for months) so they don't have to continue running two sets of verification servers and so that when it is time to fully launch B.net 2.0 everybody is ready for it.

*nods* Hav0k, as I see from your replies, here and elsewhere, they're more negative judgments than constructive criticism. No offense is intended in that observation, but I've proven to have credibility, and if you don't wish to look at it that way, there is no problem to that and I take no offense.
My "magical inside source" is a person I've known as a friend over many years who happens to work at Blizzard right now. We've worked on a previous project in the industry together where I was an associate producer of the game that he was a developer of. While I'm happy to share some of our conversations over AIM, I also can't deny that I'm unable to provide any proof, and the core mentality of the community is and should be "If it's not from an official source, it's not official." So if you wish to consider my source not-credible at all, then there is no issue what-so-ever in that mentality. It's not my goal to prove he exists, it's merely my goal to share any little tidbit I can, even by "non-official" means and if it's strictly an opinion.
I also want to elaborate on something. The information that he provided was his opinion aligned with mine, not merely saying "here's official proof". In hindsight, I believe that it could have been perceived more snobbish than attempting to share information (which was my intent) and for that I apologize if my intent wasn't portrayed correctly.
I'll value the opinions of a person more than his or her judgments. I'm sorry if my original reply was perceived as the latter, but I'm concerned at the judgemental tone that is perceived in the majority of your messages. Just two cents for you sir or ma'am.

Regarding WoW: High hardware features have been highlights of MANY subpatches in it's history. 2.2.2 for voicechat (even if it's not used), 3.0.2 for inscription, achievements and the barbershop (which was released priority to an expansion, which will happen again with Cataclysm), 2.0.1 enabled the honor/arena system, and allowed the talent revamp. WoW has a history of releasing complex important features SPECIFICALLY in subpatches before the real release to test them out and has proven to do so successfully. There are many other examples, but those are the most prevalent. There will be sub-patches after 3.3 as well, there is no way they'd be able to justify the potential of 4-10 months with no content.
Regarding the way this announcement affects battle.net: I'm not saying "This means battle.net is coming sooner", my intent is to say "A change like this is visible because they made more progress internally." This is good news. Does it mean things will happen "Sooner" than they're intended, no. Progress will happen even if we don't know about it, It's nice to see some public information representing that progress is happening. That's all I truly felt to share.
