The obvious, big problem with that line of thinking is that Tassadar himself could have been faked. If Zeratul somehow could tell it was really him, I don't recall them addressing that one. If you're going to cop out, at least cover the obvious questions made within ten seconds of thinking about it. Or did they? So hard to remember those painful memories.
This new Rag makes more sense. Now Blizzard damn better come up with a better reason, and a more DETAILED one, or it'll qualify as they're too damn lazy to do anything.

This is why I'm not ruling out they'll just have Duran return in SC3. That way, Metzen can tell the community, "We never said SPECIFICALLY that Emil Narud was Samir Duran, now did we?"
Even if they do turn out the same person, I can see them bringing the guy back. If that's the case, the fans would point that Duran was already killed in HotS.
Metzen's response would be, "Ah, but we never answered the Q of just WHAT Duran is, now did we? And therefore, you were never really told just WHAT powers he had, which means you were all morons to think he didn't have the power of self-reincarnation."

^ Don't forget that the Overmind and Tassadar aren't really dead either. When "dead" has stopped meaning exactly that and instead becomes "dead for now", it sets a precedent for any "deaths" that ever occurred, be it in the past or future. That's why if anyone ever dies in LotV, it's not going to have as much of a punch as it should since there is always the possibility of being resurrected in some form at any later date.
Mengsk died in HotS? Nah, it was really just a clone or summink...![]()
Yes, that's right! That is indeed ME on the right.

I hope this means Aldaris isn't dead.
I really like that guy.

Considering both he and Fenix were Khalai, echoes of their personalities and experiences may reverberate within the Khala. I wonder if we could access their experiences through Rohana?I hope this means Aldaris isn't dead.
I really like that guy.
Maybe that's how Fenix is revisited; Artanis temporarily merges minds with Rohana, allowing us to see through Fenix' eyes.
Unless it was a ploy by Amon. Dun dun duuun! Shyamalan'd.Don't forget that the Overmind and Tassadar aren't really dead either.
Aaand sold.
Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow
Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?
The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

He's better off staying dead lest he become yet another typical caricature in the hands of Blizz's current writers.
Lol. What a twist!!
That this could actually be a legitimate reason makes me somewhat ambivalent (in other words, equally saddened and happy at the same time).

Boc boc boc, boc-boc boc boc!Lol. What a twist!!
I know, right? I've always been a fan of the twisted prophecy trope. Not the one where, "Hey, we completely misinterpreted it! Shit's all fucked up now and shit!" Rather, something akin to the "Planted Prophecy", a la the Bene Gesserit's in Dune; rumors and legends artificially created in a culture so they may be taken advantage of at a later date. The avatar of Tassadar was a plant created by Amon. (I also wondered if a seed of Amon was planted in the Overmind. The Overmind intentionally committed suicide on Aiur, but in the process released Amon's essence into its psionic matrix.)That this could actually be a legitimate reason makes me somewhat ambivalent (in other words, equally saddened and happy at the same time).

What do you mean?Originally Posted by TheEconomist

Are you talking about the artistic style used by Blizzard on Overwatch, or are you referring to just the overall story (however limited in that snippet trailer)?
