Immorality: Actions and/or thoughts that stand in contrast to what is deemed as and/or perceived as moral. Used as a negative connotation.

Amorality: Not related to morality and/or lacking moral sensibility. Not necessarily negative.

In other words, an immoral person may do something deemed immoral, know it's immoral, but do it anyway. An amoral individual lacks the framework to comprehend the concept of morality.

More than that. With casualties, you can only twist the number so far. I for one do not believe the Dominion public can be THAT stupid. Mengsk can manipulate the numbers all he wants, eventually people will begin to see the numbers aren't adding up.

This has already been done in real life during the Vietnam war, when the US public began to lose their trust in the government when they realized they were being lied to about the casualty rates.

The absence of morals is the excuse and reason for tyranny and selfishness.
That's simply factually wrong and easy to prove using empirical data. That's the core difference between the libertarian thinkers you've claimed to respect and the leftists you hate. Lefists think all of the world's problems is the result of people less moral than they are and they ask for more power under that premise. And then everything goes to shit under them. Conservatives have this problem as well, but, at the moment, not as severely. The single greatest cause for tyranny and selfishness is an absolute assuredness that a person IS doing the right/moral thing, in their opinion. I believe you're confusing immorality with different morals from Christianity which is an entirely different thing but a slightly better argument, but only slightly.

Off-topic and I don't feel like getting into this anyways.

Even with the current police militarization, you cannot compare the US to Mengsk's government. The correct comparison would be to Sovet Russia or China. China, in particular, today, still has yet to largely realize the amount of lies in government data, especially in economics. There's still some serious debate among intellectuals even outside of the country if Tiananmen happened, and The Dalai Lama is widely considered an oppressive bastard. And you'd be amazed how many Russians still adore Stalin even after having access to the internet for so long. Mix in a little suspension of disbelief, allowances for creative fiction, and some space magic, and you've got one thing that Blizzard didn't absolutely fail at.

Well it's not trying to compare Mengsk's government to that of the US. More like trying to compare Hitler's regime to the Dominion.

Hitler is an inferior comparison to Stalin and Mao Zedong. Or just about any other dictator.

He was utterly stupid and incompetent, just like Mengsk since he became emperor in SC1.

Hitler was a god of strategy and timing compared to Mengsk. Mengsk in SC2 is so bad I feel like defending Hitler. *sigh*

Hitler was a gambler, and far too reckless for that matter. If Narud was NOT killed, I always did wonder how that could have backfired on Mengsk....

Gambler? Gambling had nothing to do with it.

But this is starting to feel like another one of those instances where I waste a ridiculous amount of my time correcting your thinking, which I will not do. End of discussion.

Most things he did required luck and in that sense it's considered gambling.

Ok yes I'll admit that makes everyone risk takers, but his was still too reckless.
