Actually for that fight is exactly why Duran has to be revived by Amon in LotV. He was responsible for Stukov's death in BW, so obviously Stukov should be the one who gets to kill him in return.

To bring someone back just to satisfy a character motivation? Well, it's definitely something Blizz would do.

I wouldn't entirely say that. The Overmind didn't have any morality even before Amon's corruption. The Xel'Naga merely used it to make sure the Zerg would eventually merge peacefully with the Protoss to form the new generation of Xel'Naga. In that aspect they were faced with the same problem Amon faced, because the primal Zerg may not follow.

Not having morality = evil. Besides, it's not about what the Overmind thinks he is, it's about how everybody else feels he is. They fought their hearts out to destroy the guy, and it turns out he was only rebelling against a worse evil? That's emotionally disorienting, for both the characters and the players.

For the most part yes, but personally I don't think the Overmind really cared if the primal Zerg were to merge with the Protoss to form the new Xel'Naga, it just didn't have a choice in the matter. Bottom line is that it was just too indifferent on everything.

See, the trouble with your statements, Rag, is that you keep on referring to SC2 as though it's important to what I think and feel about Starcraft. It's not. I constantly pretend it's AU fanfiction.

As for you, Econ, you have morality. It's just based on "the lens of logic and reason", as you say. Morality is more or less "I should do this because it's right." Having morality is not a statement of what makes something right or wrong, it's a statement that you have a version of right. As opposed doing whatever whenever no matter how anyone else feels or how they're affected.

Fine if you think that way. Me, I felt what was written was the writers trying to scrape up something after all this, it just fell short because they didn't bother looking at the lore that carefully in the SC1 manual.

I thought it was widely accepted that Phinney wrote SC1, then Metzen took over and wrote the rest. The differences in quality between SC1 and Brood War is astonishing.
