-Artanis wielding a warp blade and psi-blade...stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. If he's wielding the Void and Khala simultaniously, how is he not meeting the same fate as Tassadar and Adun?
-Assuming Artanis is the protagonist, I have to ask...why? I've argued in the past that Zeratul is a more logical protagonist because if the basis of LotV is uniting the protoss (and by all indications, still is), Zeratul is the logical bridge character. He's done it in SC1, he's never expressed any prejudices to the Khalai, and is the one who has the rationale to argue for unficiation (we should unify because Amon, hybrids, etc.). Artanis is Khalai. Artanis has never shown any interest in the Nerazim bar them being allies. Artanis's motivations up to this point have been focused on the Protoss Protectorate. Artanis has never struck me as a leader character - BW, yes, he fights, but he never led. And from a trilogy standpoint, we haven't even really seen Artanis up to this point. Heck, even Selendis would be a better choice because not only did she feature in WoL outside "In Utter Darkness," but has room for growth (distrusts the Dark Templar, so a story based on unification could be a good crucible for developing her character). If Artanis is meant to be the next Anak Su'n, following in Tassadar's footsteps, I can see that working (given his prior hero worship), but, well, ugh. I admit, I'm not that enamoured of Artanis as a character, and to be frank, I've never really seen a direction or need for his character to go somewhere. Zeratul, even Selendis, IMO, have logical character growth paths.
-Korhal scenes...um, why? Look, I like terrans as much as the next guy. But why is Amon/Narud/whoever even bothering with Korhal? I mean, yeah, I think it's nice that Raynor and Valerian are in LotV, but this does suggest at a plot presence greater than should exist.
-On the plus side, I like the cinematic style, how it's using the game engine and whatnot. I'm tempted to call it a "power fantasy" trailer (protoss kicking arse and taking names), and...well, time will tell I guess.
-LotV being its own game...mixed. Nice idea, but for someone who has WoL and HotS installed, you'll forgive me for just wanting an expansion pack.
