    Default LotV Trailer!

    Aaaah! http://kotaku.com/heres-the-first-tr...the-1656044255

    Things I've noticed:

    Hidden Content:

    Artanis Vs Zeratul?

Artanis duel-wielding: Khalai and Warp blades!

My Artanis merges with Kerrigan theory comes true?!

    Narud is back, baby.

    Campaign Overview

Story-wise, from what I've gathered so far,
    Hidden Content:
Zeratul meets up with Artanis' invasion fleet on Aiur. Right after Amon springs his Khala-corrupting trap, Zeratul engages a corrupted Artanis. I can only assume that Zeratul severs Artanis' nerve tendrils and frees him, but receives mortal wounds in turn. In his dying moments, Zeratul gifts his Master Blade to Artanis, effectively making Artanis the successor to both himself and Tassadar. I can only presume Artanis and a small band of Dark Templar similarly free a group of other Daelaam Protoss and flees Aiur abourd the Spear of Adun. This is how Metzen's 7 Samurai scenario is realized, with the majority of the Khalai forcibly becoming Tal'Darim, forged in Amon's likeness.

    Aaand sold.

Be it through hallowed grounds or lands of sorrow
The Forger's wake is bereft and fallow

    Is the residuum worth the cost of destruction and maiming;
Or is the shaping a culling and exercise in taming?

The road's goal is the Origin of Being
But be wary through what thickets it winds.

    Saw trailer and...mixed.

    Hidden Content:

-Artanis wielding a warp blade and psi-blade...stupid. Stupid stupid stupid. If he's wielding the Void and Khala simultaniously, how is he not meeting the same fate as Tassadar and Adun?

-Assuming Artanis is the protagonist, I have to ask...why? I've argued in the past that Zeratul is a more logical protagonist because if the basis of LotV is uniting the protoss (and by all indications, still is), Zeratul is the logical bridge character. He's done it in SC1, he's never expressed any prejudices to the Khalai, and is the one who has the rationale to argue for unficiation (we should unify because Amon, hybrids, etc.). Artanis is Khalai. Artanis has never shown any interest in the Nerazim bar them being allies. Artanis's motivations up to this point have been focused on the Protoss Protectorate. Artanis has never struck me as a leader character - BW, yes, he fights, but he never led. And from a trilogy standpoint, we haven't even really seen Artanis up to this point. Heck, even Selendis would be a better choice because not only did she feature in WoL outside "In Utter Darkness," but has room for growth (distrusts the Dark Templar, so a story based on unification could be a good crucible for developing her character). If Artanis is meant to be the next Anak Su'n, following in Tassadar's footsteps, I can see that working (given his prior hero worship), but, well, ugh. I admit, I'm not that enamoured of Artanis as a character, and to be frank, I've never really seen a direction or need for his character to go somewhere. Zeratul, even Selendis, IMO, have logical character growth paths.

-Korhal scenes...um, why? Look, I like terrans as much as the next guy. But why is Amon/Narud/whoever even bothering with Korhal? I mean, yeah, I think it's nice that Raynor and Valerian are in LotV, but this does suggest at a plot presence greater than should exist.

-On the plus side, I like the cinematic style, how it's using the game engine and whatnot. I'm tempted to call it a "power fantasy" trailer (protoss kicking arse and taking names), and...well, time will tell I guess.

-LotV being its own game...mixed. Nice idea, but for someone who has WoL and HotS installed, you'll forgive me for just wanting an expansion pack.

On the other hand, loved the Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm trailers. So far it's been a good Saturday (thank you International Dateline), but so far, LotV's been a weak link for me.

SC youtube account updated with trailer and new (and old) unit information for all races:
    https://www.youtube.com/user/starcraft/videos

    Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUMSMDX5iQc

    Terran: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaKT0YQSJ9I
    Zerg: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LkVMd1-ZyM8
    Protoss: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tKHSrkilGY

Also: By Adun! Would you look at that Spear of Adun!

Scientists measure a second as the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods
of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine
levels of the ground state of the caesium 133 atom.
Or the duration of 9,192,631,770 matches where David Kim crushes you head to head in StarCraft 2

Loving basically everything, really glad we finally get zealots doing things in cutscenes. The Spear of Adun confuses me a little bit conceptually, as it seems like that's what a Mothership should be for, but I'm super excited to see all there is to see in it.

Also, do you see that all of these things are like stasis chambers with Zealots in them?

@SP: No one cares bout my opinion and this is a hype thread so, i'll just say: The protoss look fucking weak in the cinematic. I am disappoint

@MP: The MP updates seem great though. LUUUURRRKKKEEERRR, YEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!

Also, Overwatch's cinematic looks like shit. But exactly like what Blizzard is moving towards. My comparisons of Blizzard to Pixar and Disney seem eerily prophetic now. Gameplay looks pretty impressive though and I'm somewhat excited for it, even though it pisses me off a bit that their other games aren't even complete yet their spinning out new series after new series.
