If you pause it right before the bright flash, you can make out some texture work that looks alot like clouds.

I saw that, but the last picture to me, the planet can resemble others. Hell for all we know it can be Korhal. Kerrigan only attacked Augustgrad at the end of HotS, but since Mengsk pulled virtually ALL remaining Dominion troops back to defend it, and they were largely wiped out by the swarm, it would mean the Shadow Corps would have an easy time with it.

If it IS Aiur, then it's nothing more than the moral of the story told every time in the SC universe: No matter how hard you try, no matter how many sacrifices you make to reach the goal, it'll all be rendered pointless and your efforts will always be for nothing.

That's why I'm willing to bet the LotV ending will just have Amon win in the end and at the next Blizzcon, Metzen can say, "That's the moral of the story."

Doubtful, it lacks any of the city lighting that characterized StarCraft II-era Korhal.

I was trying to study the background nebula in the Invasion scene to see if it matches up with the above image. Sadly, there's not enough detail to make out.

It lacked any city lighting because it was being destroyed by the hybrids and Shadow Corps. Remember, by the end of HotS, the Dominion military mostly exists only on paper, so Valerian would have to rely on the Raiders for the time being. You already saw how things turned out for Raynor at Castanar when the hybrid was released.

It's still just a hybrid, and it'll die like anyone else. Big means NOTHING in terms of how big a threat it poses. Zurvan himself wasn't a challenge on Hard, even if you don't use the primal Zerg reinforcements at all.
